Jason Schreier: Naughty Dog enacts mandatory overtime for staff in order to finish Integalactic internal demo

This mandatory OT was only for 7 weeks. They've been making the game 5 YEARS!
First, the problem here is that they're making the game since so long, still need to crunch and they're far from the end of the development.

Furthermore, the article says that they're especially worried about the future. If they had to crunch for 7 weeks for this demo, what will be mandatory in 2026 and 2027?

Druckmann surely has the biggest pull on GAF.

Just 15 minutes already 50+ posts. (and two double post threads)

With no article in the OP at all. LMAO.

People at naughty dog were literally getting death threats, the voice actress was literally getting death threats. Druckman had to make a formal statement on the matter.

what magic land with rainbows and unicorns do you live on?
Uhh that's not a Naughty Dog problem, that's a sociopathic people problem. Naughty Dog made a game, and some gamers took it upon themselves to become terrorists. It's readily apparently to most everyone that you shouldn't go around making death threats to people, but you can stand up and be the voice of that group if you feel like they're being unfairly maligned.

So the game is in development hell which is why it didnt show up at the TGA this year.

Honestly, they had five years of no crunch and accomplished fuck all. This isnt something you go to schrier about. 50 hours a week isnt that bad. Most people work 10 hour days anyway. Cant believe they would go to schrier over this after they have wasted hundreds of millions of dollars of Sony's money while Neil went out and partied with Hollywood stars while the studio sat there doing absolutely nothing for five years. Oh right, they meddled with the VSG remake so much those guys quit and they had to get a 1:1 copy pasta remake out using TLOU2's assets. So much work!
Not exactly development hell, they simply started developing this game a few months before the official cancellation of Factions, I believe around December 2023.

But of course, this is entirely their fault and Sony's. Using one of the most prestigious studios in the world to make a crappy live service game was truly a brilliant idea.

Imagine studio with around 300 people's on one game spent 5 year's tickling their ass, and can't even come with a demo for the game, and when their managers forced them to do overtime time (which is paid ) some of them leaks this info to journalists because their ass don't like that, (truly fuck laziness)

iirc neil said this game has been in dev since 2020.

Ahhh its the gamers fault... classic.

they marketed the game poorly and then they had a big leak that completely ruined and backfired their big "secret" and people got angry at that.

there is absolutely a way in which they had marketed P2 and people wouldn't have been as "angry"...

Do you even know what you are arguing? i'm saying drop a demo to avoid a similar situation so the team doesn't get death threats and you are saying DUuurrRR 20 million COpIES.

like surely you'd wanna avoid a situation like last time when people had their lives threatened?

and then they get upset when people say they are lazy.

i have never seen any other industry where devs work on something for 6 years and have nothing to show for it.

The crunch was only for 7 weeks. It wasn't some extended period of time. And will it come back? Maybe, maybe not.

Almost a full year after announcement and they're still working on a demo to show the publisher?

This shit ain't coming out till late 2027, early 2028, is it ?

Between him fucking around with the show and factions I doubt there was any serious progress back then
im sure the 200 or so devs he said were working on it for four years (he said this last year, so its been five years) still collected paychecks. didnt they say that the media salary for devs in U.S is $140k. Thats $28 million a year. $140 million in five years. Cant even get a vertical slice done in five years without their boss breathing down their neck. lazy cunts.

You know TLOU2 sold like 4 million copies in 3 days, right?

That doesn't mean it's true. But yes, it could be true; however, there are different phases of development, and at most what they did in 2020 was the conceptual phase.
No, concept phase are clearly done way before that date Neil clearly stated that the game in full control production since 2020

this really depends on whether or not Sony likes the demo. For all we know Sony would give feedback which would either cancel the game or force a redesign that would add years to the project.

If sony is forcing them to get a demo done then the game is in really bad shape and the execs over at sony are not happy. or were not happy with whatever they saw before the demo was commissioned.

Schreir is such a sneaky vile little fuck lol. He couldn't wait to report this right before the holidays, as if its the worst news in the world. Corporation requires some overtime shifts after having 3 day work weeks for God knows how long. Everyone gets paid. Theres millions of motherfuckers out here dying for a job that can't find one. I dont want to hear shit about having to work some overtime for a month or so. sorry.

I've worked overtime for awhile in the past. No one wrote any articles about it.

It looks like Schrier writes a small article or two a week. He doesn't seem famiiar with working much.

who gives a fuck about the sales.

we talking about how peoples lives were an absolute misery at the studio, it still would have sold 4 million if it was marketed properly and then people also didn't get death threats.

If a gamer issues a death threat, then yes it's that gamer's fault. It's not Naughty Dog's fault that people violated NDAs or leaked stories, it's not Naughty Dog's fault that you don't like the story (plenty of us do), You're sitting here arguing that gamer's aren't responsible for their own actions like an entire group of petulant children. I can only assume based on your positions here that you're someone that agrees with people getting death threats when you don't like their product?

It's pretty obvious to me that Naughty Dog shouldn't have to self censor to satisfy the people wishing death threats on others, but it's pretty telling that you think they should.

So the death threats to the devs are who's fault?

Mid-2027 will be Schreier's article.
I thought it was only Cory project gonna skip this gen but now intergalactic gonna take same route truly what was on my mind when I thought they developing uncharted 5 alongside this one on same time for ps5, lol

Impossible. You should watch the Naughty Dog documentary that covers TLOU Part II's development. Naughty Dog has always been a troubled studio.

the lazy dogs went crying to Schrier. he only reported on it because the cunts were upset they had to work from 8-6 every day for a few weeks.
