Speaking on the Gaming Interviews YouTube channel, Pearl Abyss' Will Powers said that describing the size of Crimson Desert's world in terms of numbers doesn't do it justice, because doing so fails to capture the scope and scale of the game. But he did go as far as to compare it to two of the biggest open world games around.

"I don't think numbers really do it justice because, how big is that in terms of scope and scale?" he said. "But what we can say is that the world's at least twice as big as the open world, the playable area, of Skyrim. It's larger than the map of Red Dead Redemption 2."

"We sincerely thank our fans around the world for being with us on this meaningful journey," said Pearl Abyss in a message. "Thanks to your support, we have reached this important milestone. We look forward to welcoming you to the continent of Pywel on March 19."

Man, why does it need to be a massive game... please make less massive but equally impressive games for workers/parents/folks who want the same shit without the trudging around a, probably, meh open world.
I'm interested, but you say "open world" and say it's bigger than already big games, that's a turn off. You've already got retention issues in the medium as it is, why make things even bigger and bigger for the sake of it?

Looks promising, but it's one of those games where I'll definitely wait for reviews and online impressions.
Also have they ever showed the console version?

Looks like my dream game, I hope it works out ok. Don't believe I'll blindly buy it, though, will wait on GAF and a few YouTubers I trust impressions.

Graphically looks amazing as does Black Desert but their storytelling is usually crap and like ive said many times they find ways to be very heavy on monetization so i am a bit worried even though this is a single player game... I think i read the devs said this is separate from the Black Desert universe yet i see similar aesthetics all over the trailers and even borrowed enemies like the witch Hexe boss. I dunno. Really torn on whether to preorder this or not.

Not sure what to expect from this game. It looks super promising but something looks off. I hope they deliver.

Was very hyped with the earlier footage but then after having seen way more I have my doubts. It tries to do a lot of things and it really remains to be seen if it will succeed at it. I really hope it does.

That part about how huge the game world is..... is certainly not a guarantee it will be amazing. Size of game world isn't everything, but we shall see.

They already did that in 2014.

This game is on my radar, but I still don't have a good feel for what sort of game it really is. I see the screenshots, and they look impressive, but how does the moment-to-moment game actually play? Afaik, we haven't gotten any hands-on previews, and even though those are usually fluff pieces, I rely on them to get some sense of what the game is like to play. So I don't know. A lot of mystery around this one.

You can say whatever you want about Dragons Dogma 2 but the combat and character animation was absolutely fantastic
Yeah the game with zero challenge and narcolectic enemies sure had incredible combat alright...hopefully crimson desert is just as good :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

After 40 hours of no chellenge i stopped hoping for the game to get better and bailed out.

Animations were good, i can give you that, but they took a couple of animations from the monster hunter games, too bad good combat is more than cute animations.

Sorry dude we are never gonna agree on this one.

Excellent, was hoping it wouldn't be delayed again. One of a small handful of PS5 games I'm interested in (also Saros and Control: Resonant).

The activists get the review code 1 month before release, devs are crazy confident to say the least.
