Digimon Time Stranger coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on July 10, 2026

60 fps on Switch 2 and not PS5 is certainly a choice. I wonder if a patch is in the works? Running this game at 60fps isn't exactly hard.

Wow, I'm glad I waited. This is going to be perfect on Switch 2, like an extra Nintendo game. I have been thinking this game would be fun but didn't really have a reason to jump in.

Been waiting on this game to hit switch. Very funny that it'll be 60fps on switch 2 after basically telling PS5 players that it wasn't possible.

hopefully that means they figured it out and will patch the PS5 version when the switch 2 version releases

I literally just received my PS5 copy today. I would have prefer to play this on Switch 2. No big deal, but I should've waited a few days. Damn discounts.

I don't think they 'figure out', and I find funny people still falling into those buzz words.

Probably a money problem, that Nintendo sorted out in exchange for a NS2 version.

Saying the reason for the 60 fps patch was because of the NS2 version. This pretty much proves my point LOL. In case you didn't notice, there is no base PS4/PS4pro version, despite a base Nintendo Switch version running at 1080p30. Sigh.

Theres no valid reason to take this time just to launch a 60fps update for PS5 and only announcing that a future update after the SW2 version is announced. I dont think this is the "gotcha" moment youre looking for. Specially when I was looking up for this update in their own site and no info was posted.

It is since it's coming to other consoles, but you believe in whatever you want.

You should take up your own suggestion. Theres a clear sign of lack interest (or incentive) in the game, even after 2 DLCs. To be revealed after SW2 version reveal with no explanation and in a single tweet(not on an official site or video), this young generation has to be that dumb to believe everything was either planned or waiting for the right moment.

Why am I hyped as fuck for this, lol.....

I think I have been wanting to play this and now I have a reason.

This and Granblue Fantasy Relink.

There is no info about the 60 fps patch in their official website BTW, but I'm glad a 29 'likes' tweet proved there is a patch update coming for PS5/Series X. Will get the game as soon as the update release.

that is their official Twitter dude.

So, fighting over the patch aside, how is the game itself -- any good?

I believe it is, I think they retain the digievolutions methods from Cybersleught(which are taken from the DS games). I'm aways up for Digimon games, but avoided that one waiting for a patch.

From the perspective of say... someone who watched the first two seasons of Digimon when it was a new thing in the 90's, then has literally not engaged with anything Digimon related since... still good? I'm not against it or anything I just haven't been in the Digimon fan-sphere at all. But the high production values on this one are interesting, I'm down for monster catching JRPG games in general.

Assuming it follows Cybersleught mechanic, probably.
Digimon nowadays aren't really difficult and can be picked up rather easly. Since Digimon formula nowadays allows you to digivolve to multiple digimons following certain requeriments without stopping progress. That means that even though you can't have a digivolution you want at the time you can still digivolve to another digimon of certain rank until you can fill its requeriments.

If this was based on the first Digimon(Digimon World for PS1), then the game would be incredibly difficult and I wouldn't even recommend this to child of how much taxing it is to progress. Next Order and Re:digitize are examples of Digimon games based on the PS1 iteration.
