Marathon Releases March 5 '26 - $39.99

I mained assassin previous tests.

If you're in motion you are more visible. If you're still you are damn near fully invisible. If you shoot you leave invisibility. If you go into smoke you get invis back.

It can create some amazing outplay moments if people are dumb enough to try to fight you in smoked out areas. I'd throw a ton of nades into smoke areas if I know an assassin is there and recon isn't on my team.

I generally used mine to disengage not engage. If a fight is going south and I'm going to get rushed, then pop smoke invis and go reposition to heal up or just GTFO entirely.
Yeah Invis was good for legging it when shit goes tits up.

Haha dig at ARC. Its honestly so fucking stupid not permabanning cheaters immediately
Right? It makes absolutely zero sense in a game that is played online. If cheating becomes a big enough issue then people will just abandon the game as there's no way for them to enjoy it otherwise.

I started playing Overwatch again and it does Hero bans now.

Sombra, the one character with invisibility, is banned in 75% of matches. That said, I love invisibility in games.

In a later video Kruzer said he changed opinion. Now he thinks Destroyer is the best runner shell.

I think they're pretty balanced. My guess for best overall team composition are Triage, Destroyer and Recon.
They all seem pretty strong by the looks of things.

I still have no idea what to play first. Thinking Recon while the game is new as there will be loads of of assassins to hunt down.

Only thing left is the post launch plans. Hopefully we'll get that aswell this week
Think that will come at the end of the slam personally. It will mean more once people have a feel for the game.

Yeah true, right before launch

This is wild coming from Bungo. Cheating in D2 got out of hand on PC. Hopefully they are serious about it this time.

The whole game isn't for you because one class has stealth? 🤔
I am just one player.

But yeah, given that you I am given to encounter that class all the time it will probably colour my feel of the game. I just prefer not being locked into a "counter stealth" class (or using counter stealth skills/gear), and I really dislike invisible classes in pvp shooter games.

There are many games, this is not a problem and I am sure Bungie wont miss me too much. :D

As a console player I might turn crossplay off (if the player numbers let me). I had a very hard time against m+kb snipers in the playtest.

In Hunt:Showdown I also only play vs controller players. Some of the gunfights are dumb as fuck, but at least I have a fair chance.

Big miss not having input based matchmaking like COD. As a controller player on PC, its the best solution for everybody.

It's crazy because I remember Sombra was so useless for so long. Then I got back on to the game one day and she instantly became the most annoying character in the game.

Yeah i would like to play againts controller players aswell, but whatever. I have no problem playing againts MKB players in other shooters, but i hope they improved the controller aiming options, because it doesnt felt perfect for me. For example in BF6, after i tweaked the settings, it feels really good

Yeah agreed.

I'm still trying to decide where to even buy the game. I played one of the playlists with both controller and KBM and liked both but I don't really want to play on controller against KBM as much as possible (I'm sure console has KBM functionality but the vast majority won't use it) and on PS5 I can turn off cross play. I just don't like the idea of needing to move my PS5 to my desk though I guess I would need to move my PC to my TV when I want to play on TV though either way...

Stolen from Reddit... The hype is real, fuck the haters

So according to the server slam FAQ we need to get to level 30 for all the cosmetic rewards, not just doing the first mission. That sucks.

Edit - I could be reading it wrong. Are the weapons and deluxe backpack listed skins or are they just regular items that are in the care packages?

Marathon has a big chance of going viral.

1. Arc raiders opened up and introduced the extraction shooter formula to tons of new people. And marathon is launching at the perfect moment when there is a slow down in arc raiders. New content is a fair bit away and people are starting to look for games that are similar.

2. Marathon is a bit more hardcore( but still accessible) than arc raiders and is also more geared towards pvp. It has the chance to attract people who like the genre and feel of arc raiders but want more of a pvp/competitive experience.

3. Streamers prefer pvp over pve, it gives better content. Considering how the genre is slowly expanding, marathon is a going to be a natural choice for streamers.

4. Bungie is a big name and people are going to give it a go based on the name alone. Remember even suicide squad initially sold well based on rocksteady's name( it was the best selling game the month it launched). It was poor word of mouth and poor game quality that killed it. Marathon already has a positive word of mouth and quality seems to be there.

I expect marathon to have a modest start but the player count will keep rising as the word of mouth and free publicity from streamers takes hold. It has all the makings of a sleeper hit

The cosmetics you just need to do the first mission, everything else is in game items not skins.

Dont worry about the backpack and guns you'll lose them within a hour of launch anyway.

Thanks mate. I got worried that they were cosmetics too haha. Not that I'll probably ever use them but I like to collect stuff, especially free stuff in games!

preordered it just now. only played some Arc Raiders but something feels off about it to me. I like the concept of extraction shooters and I've never played a Bungie game I didn't like. If it has good gunplay and combat feel to it then I'm sure I'll have fun. Absolutely loved Destiny 2 gunplay.

it's only £35 so if it ends up being shit then whatever. I'm sure I'll get my fun out of it.

It exactly feels like destiny 2 gunplay, maybe even better
