Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

The zombie with the lights spotted me every time when I tried to sneak past him too

I'm gonna say that one is 100% scripted, it always spots me as well.

But rest assured, you're soon going to get the tutorial and requisite item for the sneak attacks.

Can you sneak behind zombies if you are close without being detected? like did you passed the zombie obsessed with lights without being spotted? i turned on the other light but even if he was fully distracted playing with the thing, when i tried to sneak pass him he just turned and grabbed me. (i know he turn around every 10 sec to check behind, i tried to pass right after that animation)

I tried with a couple of them but they always turn arond and grab me, sometimes it seems impossible to go full stealth, i just wanted to know if it was normal or if i was playing badly :lollipop_squinting:
There are three lights switch, in that area so turn on light that further away so you sneak pass him while his busy turning off the light.

I try as well, but Grace is so fucking slow XD

That said, if you're not in their line of sight, walking or crouching makes no difference, it seems.
I mean as rule of thumb i always crouch and turn the flashlight off in stealth games, at the very least i think crouching reduce the volume of your steps.

I tried with the closest one when you meet him the first time, he came and he was distracted but i guess there wasn't enough space, i guess the light wasn't the right one :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I have the knives, is that the stealth kill object?

Fuck i think i put them in the box to save space so maybe that's why i didn't had the tutorial :lollipop_squinting:

I think you can fool him when you come from a different path when you unlock the door in the same area but maybe not the very first time.

Maybe?

Got this thinking it might be like Silent Hill 2, but it's a lot more action and a lot less scary. Graphics aren't as good as SH2 even on Path tracing on PC, but it's fine. The game is a lot more puzzles and action and that takes away from the horror feel of it, which is what I was wanting more from this rather than action. Maybe that's why I hadn't played any previous RE as this series might not be for me.

Still, will try to get through this one and see how it develops.
Maybe because I'm playing on PS5 but visually RE9 looks soooooo much better especially character models and gore effect.

RE game was always been action horror game while SH is much more psychological horror game….maybe upcoming Fatal Frame 2 remake is better choice for you if you want pure horror.

What I noticed you can sneak behind them but you can't get too close to them this why you have the option to use empty bottle to distract them.

Why is raccoon city such a downgrade compared to the rest of the game. Level looks like last gen assets compared to the best of RE9. 😭

Here i am sitting on 60 normal pistol ammo and 7 requiem ammo at the end of care center

Yeah, I was gonna say. Currently sitting on about 50 handgun bullets, 4 magnum rounds, and two of the injector things that insta kill enemies. Gotta explore thoroughly and play smart.

Yep that confirm my original thoughts, thanks.

Also, Grace's is such a poor character. She is supposed to be a FBI analyst but can't even get a sentence out. Even with that poor little girl, she can barely talk. And she doesn't even console or offer support to the little child? Like wtf kind of FBI agent is that? She is more a shy incompetent high schooler than FBI.

Apologies if this has already been covered off but I have the game maxed out on my 4090 with path tracing enabled and my fans are going like a MF (even though CPU and GPU temps are perfectly fine).

During quiet parts where you are supposed to enjoy the quiet ambient noises, creaks, groans, breathing, all I can hear is a noise that sounds like a hairdryer on full blast. Help.

Now this is what I call an amazing easter egg..

I HIGHLY disagree with that, she is FBI but most of her job is at office work analyzing evidence...she just had basic gun training.....if you expecting Hollywood style FBI agent she is not that.

An FBI agent should at least be able to talk to people. Not expecting her to be expert in using a gun - that part is fine. Even with that police officer, she was stuttering and couldn't even talk to him properly.

yeah, Ethan had less gun training than her and he did great on RE7, also she didn't had speech training ? cause she can barely speak like a normal human being, its not like she is 15yo ffs, she is a 25+ woman.

She is good FBI analyst but she clearly has autism this is why she chose the office work instead on the field......also she has no experience fighting zombies or monsters like Leon has.

To me she acts realistically, if it was me I would be pissing my pants by now when encountering monsters.

That's because she was going to a place her mother died ( which yes it was dumb her boss sent her there ), she was distraught when the police started talking to her

Grace and her sections are the best part of the game imo.

yeah, the autism card... also i think RE2 never happened or Leon was born killing zombies.

Anime trope in a Western setting.

So far I am having a blast. Playing with the ink ribbon system really makes the game feel old school. It has just the right amount of tension and action - I was afraid the Grace chapters would be tedious, but they are very well done. Also, the first 'real' chapter with Grace feels very game-y, with zero cutscenes so far.

All in all, I like RE9 a LOT more than Village, which left a sour taste in my mouth - probably because playing as Ethan for the second time just didn't do it for me.

The gyro controls on the switch 2 are awesome but the graphics have alot of jaggies and low poly characters when playing on the tv. Handheld though, looks superb. Here are my first honest 20 minutes:

Man, what is this first Leon sequence? The way it unfolds and the vibe it sends.

holy shit GIF

There's no dodging mechanic? I thought there was one in RE4R.

I'm back to Grace, and this constant switching is like the perfect mix between being a kickass and shitting your pants right after.

Playing the game with headphones and I'm legit scared on Grace parts so far :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_loudly_crying:

I am not quite done yet but first playthrough I think this might be my favorite RE.
On replay tho I think RE4 will remain unmatched.

Anyone got an extra pre order code for PS5? Best Buy didn't send me an email and when I called them, they said they can't provide and to contact Capcom. Can't call the local store anymore, because all calls go to an overseas call center and they can't help.

I'm not really a fan of how they made raccoon city filled with enemies. It doesn't make any sense for the story. This level should've been about investigation, uncovering more darker secrets, ect.

And why introduce a currency system and turn this level into an arcade game along with weapon upgrades now. Like now your doing this at the end of the game?
