This is top 3 in the series easy. It's close to perfect.
The upgrade system is strange in this game. I was weirded out when it became apparent that the coin system is gone after the care centre. And than late in the game to introduce a whole new upgrade system with currency points.Dude wtf. I did everything in the care center but still havent used any of my coins and didnt upgraded my hp nor dmg because of the blood capacity despite already having 3 empty injector. Im watching a video now and i totally missed the coins upgrades in the roulette room wtf. So im basically now stuck without any of these upgrades with grace since i just left the center?

How the fuck i missed it when i explored the whole place and collected everything...i have 5 save slots, when i get home i'll check if i have one right before i leave. I played like 30 min after that so if i have a good save i dont have to replay much. The upgrade system is strange in this game. I didnt lol. I even played with the roulette. I explored everything and also collected everything, somehow i missed those 3 itemsMan how did you skip that room? lol

Its the path tracing man. Im looking at a lot of tiny things with awe and somehow missed the most obvious one. It was weird that i had 3 injectors and bunch of coins already but still couldnt upgrade lol
I found Victor one of the most memorable enemy and the story serviceable but I'm with you if you feel a bit letdown about the game. I know people will kill me for that, but I'm replaying actually RE8 contemporary and it's far better designed both in gameplay and in the enviroment, artistically (though I despise the story with all myself). RE9 has totally anonymous areas and the gameplay it's a mixed bag. It scream fanservice in the Leon session and I'm asking if it wasn't better risking more and try something different. Again I'm not to say is bad eh to be clear. Just not the fireworks I expected for final chapter and I don't think using spectacular scripted sequence it's the better way to say goodbye to your fans. MSG4 give me this lesson.Been putting a few hours into it over the past couple days.
For better or worse, it feels almost identical to 7 and 8. If this was meant to be some kind of reinvention, it really doesn't land.
And for something that's being framed as a "farewell" to the series' legacy, it barely addresses any of the lingering plot threads. If anything, it just piles on more questions instead of resolving anything meaningful.
And I genuinely don't get the praise for Victor. Are we playing the same game? He comes off completely one-dimensional, and that snakeskin raincoat makes every scene he's in worse.
I'm only at Rhodes Hill, so maybe the story picks up, but at this point it's hard to care about new characters when the series already has such an established roster.
Starting to feel like Capcom thinks RE fans will just eat anything up without questioning it.
I actually like RE8 and the story and I'm not even finished with RE9 but nah after the castle the level design in RE8 is complete garbage. You just follow a straight line near enough.I know people will kill me for that, but I'm replaying actually RE8 contemporary and it's far better designed both in gameplay and in the enviroment, artistically (though I despise the story with all myself).

For sure, it's the best "modern" one anyway aside from the remakesThis is top 3 in the series easy. It's close to perfect.
I would at least catch up in the story before playing, but honestly do yourself a favor and play the originals! Is this something I should play if I haven't played other games in the series?
Beginning is rough but after a bit the situation get much better when it comes to ammo economy.

More poor writing - Grace in Care Centre when she has to take Emily to read that puzzle box: So start of the scene when she is about to unlock the level 3 door to free Emily, THAT's when she thinks about asking why Emily was put in there? Really? And even then in the conversation Emily sounds more like the adult. Then when she places Emily down on the sofa and then picks her up again, all she says is "I'm just gonna" and picks her up. How about you let the blind girl know what you're about to do? Another thing, when she is carrying Emily across, she doesn't tell Emily anything about the loud Zombie noises and neither does Emily ask about them.
This whole sequence is just very poorly written.
This is my first RE. Learning experience I guess.I want you to show me a single Resident Evil with good writing

By beginning i meant before unlocking some stuff and the blood extractor, since then it has been smooth sailing., just ignore who you don't absolutely have to kill and use injectors on everyone else, you can simply walk past a ton of enemies; at the end of the care center I had 8 injectors left and 70 bullets
.
Only had one blister head spawn because of this as well
imo its the kind of moronic puzzle that SH3 has on hard puzzles settings, like, there is nothing in the game to help you solve that Sun, Moon, Star code ( and that is the first part of the puzzle ), you hate to go out your way or be a astrophysicist to understand that shit.Crazy that the severed hand puzzle has still not been solved lol

disagree, imo the story of RE is one of the major reasons ppl keep playing, it may not be a great story i give you that, but its a major thing for the franchise. No problem, I played re2 when I was 10 years old so I am a veteran
When you play resident evil you play for the atmosphere, gameplay, puzzles and horror.
The story has never been good or the reason to play these games
Where are you getting all those injectors or are you crafting them? In general I have opted not to craft them because I felt like eight bullets or whatever was a better trade-off most of the time since I can usually defeat an enemy in less than eight bullets for sure. Though I guess that's not inconsideration of the reanimation possibility. So I guess I do have a lot of stored up blood and whatnot that I could craft those with but otherwise I don't find a lot in the environment., just ignore who you don't absolutely have to kill and use injectors on everyone else, you can simply walk past a ton of enemies; at the end of the care center I had 8 injectors left and 70 bullets
.

Yeah I completely agree with this. It's very strange firstly that not more is asked to begin with, but then during that sequence there is really no admission or statement about the conditions. You would think that such a thing would surprise someone like that so it would be of the utmost importance to relay at least some information about the condition of the situation so that you don't end up with auditory surprise, shock or whatever. It doesn't make a lot of sense.More poor writing - Grace in Care Centre when she has to take Emily to read that puzzle box: So start of the scene when she is about to unlock the level 3 door to free Emily, THAT's when she thinks about asking why Emily was put in there? Done. Give it a 6 or 7 at best. Care Centre was fantastic. RC was dogshit. If you're going to make an action TPS make an action TPS. If you're going to make a survival horror, make a survival horror.
On my 3rd playthrough and it's the first time I've seen this animation:
