Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

Requiem (the gun) tip:

It can penetrate through zombies. You can shoot two zombos at once if you line them up.

You're welcome.
I got that sense as well. Something to do with a Challenge being able to shoot and kill three zombies with one shot.

Game's amazing, I haven't had so much fun playing an RE game (without it being a remake) since Code Veronica.

If there is one complaint I have is that the bestiary so far feels extremely limited. Just zombies with a couple of mutations and some unique-esque enemies.

So far no zombie dogs, no insect-like humanoids, no gargantuan animals, no Hunters, nothing, nada. That's my only complaint.

Don't know if it'll change as I go through, but I don't see it.

I'm 14 hours in and just got to the second half of the game.

People crying because some random claimed they finished in 11 hours is hilarious to me.

Is that right? Click on the top of the ispoiler box, should work

Oh my god that's an extremely small 'safe' window to click, lol.

You can just post the video as is, there's nothing there that spoils anything, we know this game's gonna have alternate costumes like every other RE. I think you're ok.

Where are you getting all those injectors or are you crafting them? In general I have opted not to craft them because I felt like eight bullets or whatever was a better trade-off most of the time since I can usually defeat an enemy in less than eight bullets for sure.
Injectors are the much better option for crafting, like, by far; you'll find all the ammo you need without crafting any. Injectors one-shot nearly everything and they prevent blister heads; also when actually facing one of them in combat, instead of wasting bullets, you just shoot them a couple times to stagger and then pop the injector.

Mind you I also managed to max out my blue upgrade stats, so whenever I had to use bullets they were much more powerful; craft blue injectors > craft hemolytic injectors > craft requiem bullets > craft handgun bullets.

I found Victor one of the most memorable enemy and the story serviceable but I'm with you if you feel a bit letdown about the game. I know people will kill me for that, but I'm replaying actually RE8 contemporary and it's far better designed both in gameplay and in the enviroment, artistically (though I despise the story with all myself). RE9 has totally anonymous areas and the gameplay it's a mixed bag. It scream fanservice in the Leon session and I'm asking if it wasn't better risking more and try something different. Again I'm not to say is bad eh to be clear. Just not the fireworks I expected for final chapter and I don't think using spectacular scripted sequence it's the better way to say goodbye to your fans. MSG4 give me this lesson.

Yeah, that's really the issue. It's not a bad game, but it doesn't feel like a proper send-off, especially for those of us who've been with RE for decades.

Victor feels out of place, even by RE standards. He would make more sense as the villain of a new arc instead of being awkwardly linked to Umbrella. Even giving him a Spencer copycat angle would have landed better.

Rhodes is clearly aiming for the Mansion vibe, but it comes off sterile and lifeless. The atmosphere just isn't there.

In fact, you could remove most of the RE elements, here, give it a different name, and the experience would barely change. That's how disconnected it feels.

disagree, imo the story of RE is one of the major reasons ppl keep playing, it may not be a great story i give you that, but its a major thing for the franchise.

Strongly agree on this.

Given the actual survival horror aspects have long been eschewed in favor of action, the story is one of the ONLY reasons I keep playing RE.

Yeah I also opted to prioritize upgrading my weapon power. I'm just not sure if I can defeat a zombie in three or four bullets then I can defeat two zombies with basically the same material it would cost for the injector is the way I was looking at it.

But I also mostly shelled the injector after using it the first time, guess I should have explored it a bit more as an option. Either way at this point my storage is pretty stacked with all kinds of stuff so it doesn't matter either way.

Yeah

The game is actually quite long. My Steam timer says 16 hours and I still haven't arrived to

When playing as Grace, what's the easiest way to kill zombies without wasting too much ammo?

Is it head shot then slashing with knife until they die? Or…?

Completed the game, quite disappointing. Adding in the tier list: RE9 < RE7 < RE8 < RE2R+RE3R < RE4R.

Edit: finished Insanity, revising the tier list now: RE7 < RE9 <~= RE8 < RE2R+ RE3R < RE4R. ( RE9 + DLC and other fun modes will make it higher than RE8)

Finished Grace's first Major section last night on Classic difficulty.

That was either one of if not THE best sections of gameplay this generation!

Having to make Ink ribbons with the blood was fucking genius as they are the most important resource in the game.

Hopefully it can maintain this quality!

Shoot the leg, push them over, aim down with a makeshift knife, and slice at the head.

I like it when they group because you can knock down one and the rest go with them.

So, I haven't completed the game yet but to me, it's easily the second-best RE game after RE4. And they've managed to actually make a survival horror game after RE 2 again with Grace's sections, which I strongly appreciate. Man, between this and Pragmata (judging by the demo), 2026 might be the "year of Capcom".

Now, where is my Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection?

The remakes are cool and shit but they are just remixes of things I experienced when I was like 10. This is the first REAL third person fresh new experience from a mainline game in nearly 14 years and it's honestly fucking incredible.

The issue isn't even the longevity. Personally this game seems like 3 titles mixed in the bag by Capcom to save money. Especially the final area it was for me "wait a minute, the fuck going on there". I literally don't understand what it's even the point to introduce "new mechanics" in the final part. Also some boss fight are kinda frustrating personally and remind too much the exasperated Hollywood vibe tone of RE6 which I despise with all myself. Practically in this game it's happened exactly what I feared looking the trailer.

Agree RE4R is the goat, but RE9 below 7 and 8 is crazy work
I got super immersed and connected with Ethan's story and imo RE7 and RE8 have some really good, very memorable bosses and set pieces. Jack Baker, Lady D, House Beneviento, Live Mannequins section in RE8 DLC are some of the most fun and memorable pieces my gaming history, will never forget the thrill and fun. I also really love the location and atmosphere of RE8, that castle was majestic.

I thought the castle was really cool, too.. but it's insanely short!

I feel like playing the beginning part of Grace in 3rd person puts you at an disadvantage. In 3rd person Grace keeps stumbling and falling in corners, so the monsters catches up to you, but in 1st person that's not an issue.

I'm about 3 hours in now, and if this game keeps up this level of well-crafted RE-style puzzle environments and scares with Grace's segments and inventive, explosive action with Leon's segments, I'm going to agree with the folks putting this in the Mt. Rushmore of RE games.

What the hell all the zombies seem to turn into blister heads on insanity xD, or maybe my luck is just shit at the start.

The part of their game where Leons saves Emily from that thing, was pure comedy.

Grace's reaction didn't make any sense.

I used thing, to avoid spoilers.

One of the strangest upgrade system decisions I've seen them do. The coins are gone after one level, than they introduce a new currency system at the end. The RC level was like mercs with points received lol. I loved the game but they had no direction with where to go 100%. Instead of taking risks they tried to please everyone. Also the Porsche was such a nothing burger after making a big deal about the collaboration. We barely seen it.

I started to play on switch 2 too (I take the trilogy package discounted). I was incredibly impressed about the graphic seriously until I played to Leon... Jesus that fps drops like teeth the fuck all that graphic goodness and I have to see such stutter when the bodies remain on the ground Capcom? I mean make them disappear how tough could be sense such easy fix?

The bodies persist because they can mutate into blister heads.
I knew it but they should leave something on the table and decrease at least the quantity. I'm not talking of minor drops I could swear we are around 15 fps with too many bodies.
