What Game has the BEST BOSS FIGHTS this gen?

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
My vote goes to Black Myth: Wukong

Erlang, Great Sage, Scorpion Lord, Yasha King, Tiger Vanguard, Kang-Jin Star, Duskveil, etc, etc.

Fucking game was filled to the BRIM with outstanding boss designs and fights. And god tier animation and graphics to top it all off.

The sheer quality AND quantity for me makes Wukong the only answer.

Currently playing Ninja Gaiden 4, combat is awesome, haven't gotten to a boss yet though.

Loved the ones in Nine Sols.
They did a great job at making them feel unique and challenging, but fair.
The final boss in particular was amazing, probably my favorite boss fight since Ishin in Sekiro.

Just like in Sekiro you can be struggling with a boss for an hour, then suddenly something clicks and you enter the zone and it's like

I liked Elden Ring too, though I think some of the more iconic fights in the game were a bit mid.

Honestly, everything Elden Ring has been the most memorable for me. Regular game, Erdtree, and Nightreign. Art, music, and design really went hand in hand multiple times.

Good varied list of genres listed so far.

I haven't checked them out yet but I'm hoping Screamers, the new Carmaggedon, and NBA The Run have their own boss battles.

I miss boss battles in racing and sports games.

Hell yeah, great shout. What a gem that game was. Awesome sound design and music, too.

Other than that it's probably the bosses in the Elden Ring DLC. I liked them all, even pre-nerf PCR the shithead.

I'd wait for Saros because Returnal only had a few bosses, but every one was exceptional.

In no particular order:

Silksong
Elden Ring
Nine Sols
Stellar Blade

From a mechanics + difficulty + design point of view, the most satisfying: Eigong (Nine Sols), Malenia, Raven (Stellar Balde)

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is the first game that came to mind. Incredible boss battles. People who disagree have not played this game and faced all of its bosses.

Returnal and Armored Core 6 had some truly special bosses.

Loved the Widow boss in Silksong.

Demon Souls remake has very interesting bosses (unlike the same-y bosses of Elden Ring).

I also enjoyed P3R bosses (never played a Persona game before).

Voted for Silksong, but might be recency bias. Loved the bossfights in this game, very challenging and "sweaty hands" inducing. My fav was Karmelita.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty DLC has some of the best designed boss fights I have ever experienced (largely due to having so many valid setups for dealing with them). My top 3 in the game are:

3. Mezuki - this Nioh 2 collaboration boss is so much more engaging in this game than the source material.

2. Gan Ning - this pirate brawler really tests your reaction speed while showing off his pyrotechnics and grappling hook.

1. Taishi Ci - the way he switches between ranged attacks and close quarters combat keeps players on their toes but is never unfair.

Is Sekiro part of this gen? If it is, I pick that. Game is mad hard but it's incredibly satisfying when you figure out a way to use your techniques with lightning fast precision and get through, especially since the combat and movement just feels amazing anyway. Still one of the best looking games, too.

No, Sekiro was released the year before current gen arrived.
