Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

Grace she behaves like a school amateurish girl at the hotel, she's shivering and trembling, and she also is carrying her own personal gun instead of her service gun and it's also packed in her back pack instead of a holster.

She has ptsd visiting the place her mom was murdered by monsters and fbi analysts don't have service guns because they aren't law enforcement.

i just started it this morning at 4 am. and there's some stuff that seems so stupid, When started with Grace she behaves like a school amateurish girl at the hotel, she's shivering and trembling, and she also is carrying her own personal gun instead of her service gun and it's also packed in her back pack instead of a holster. I didn't like the first person view. Also the guy that looks like is decomposing alive Victor mentioned that Grace is the chosen one and that made me roll my eyes. I guess that capcom cannot avoid have cheesy dialogue and their attention to detail is not that great, I mention this because Grace mom supposedly is coming from the street and she is dry and it's raining outside. Then i played with Leon and the gameplay is kind of confusing but good. i will play some more later today and during the week. but the first impression is not good.

First RE game?

Not sure if my issues would be classified in the same category as yours, so apologies if I am wrong, but when I first played the games opening hour or 2, I noticed very brief random white outlines on characters, shadows looking like they had a rain effect on them and when I use a light on them (e.g a table under some stairs) the texture would pop in slowly in like 3 or 4 stages, plus other weird visual hiccups.

Before I went to play it again I used DLSS Swapper and update all the DLSS files (upscaler, frame gen etc) to the current latest version and never had an issue after that. I played in 32:9 5120x1440p, so not sure of it was an Ultrawide issue, a DLSS issue, or even both.
I think the white dot issue got fixed with the latest NVIDIA driver update

I stand by my statement that doing platinum runs can ruin even the best of games.
I agree. I recently decided to attempt my first speed run with RE4R in order to get the platinum. Was super fun at first but now that I know exactly how spawns, hitboxes, enemy routing etc. work a lot of the magic got lost for me.

I m going for the RE4Re plat now and that one ll be a nightmare, i ll take a week off before coming back to finish.
It really is a nightmare but if you want I could give you some good advice on what order of difficulty you should play on to save yourself a lot of time on the most difficult challenges (Professional S+ and no heal run)

already did a no heal run on assisted, now i m doing a S+ standard run with no merchant ( got to the castle in 1:16 hours ) and i m already feeling the lack of upgrade, but i ll push til i can.

than i just need to do the professional runs, but yeah, i ll accept some advice's if you have them.

i m 35 of 46 trophies at the moment ( there is lots of separate ways trophies on this and i dont even have the dlc )

FBI is famous to send an agent with ptsd and with a personal involvement in the same place where he has seen his mother killed.

Nathan Dempsey can be a member of The Connections or just used Grace as bait to catch the killer. His character ended up being underdeveloped.

A lot of stuff seems underdeveloped in the story. Capcom trying to go too deep if I can say and most of the things ending to contradict totally what was said at the beginning. Especially Grace involvement.

nah, it's not that deep, he doesn't actually send her there, he asks her if she would be willing to face her past/fears so she can gather information from the secured by a LEO crime scene because they need a good analyst on the case (which she apparently is); she chooses to go herself.

He is her superior. It's not like she can say no that easily.

thats a good time though. you can easily afford some to thoroughly loot area's to make up for the lack of upgrades.

I recommend going for S+ in hardcore first. It gives you the chicken hat (greatly reduces damage) and even if you fail and end up getting A-rank then you will still get Ashley's armor which makes her invulnerable and enemies can't pick her up which is a game changer.

You could go for S rank on all mercenaries maps to get the hand cannon for an easy 25K at the start of your run too.

As for the run itself you can literally run by most of the enemies. Make sure to focus mostly on dmg upgrades. It's tough but I'm sure you'll be fine.

already have the chicken hat, after this Standard S+ run i ll give the game a break to not burn my self out.

3rd plathrough was my attempt to beat it under 4 hours for the trophy and I managed a 2 hours 29 minutes run. I definitely see where I could save at least 10 mins of time, but thats about as good as I can do I believe.
How in the hell did you manage less than 2.5hr?

I can barely get out of Rhodes Hill under 2.

Just finished it, game is great. Wonder where they will take it next. Code Veronica remake is gonna be lit! Now I can finally enter the spoiler thread lol.

Some of the current speedruns are under 2 hours, on Insanity, with no bonus weapons.

Is that a modded run? I don't see how he avoids getting grabbed by zombies, I get grabbed from way farther distances from the zombies than he is passing them at. It's almost like he has their aggro turned off.

I've watched half of it, he says something that makes a huge difference is putting it in 1st person since it gives you more control of your character for avoiding enemies, worth a watch if you're interested, some of the strategies are crazy, at one part he kills the Chunk zombie by luring the zombie that hates noise out into the hall with Chunk using a glass bottle and they kill each other.

I just don't get it. I've played through to the end twice so far, and in first or 3rd person, it's the same when it comes to being grabbed by zombies.

A lot of these people lab things like enemy turning radius, timing, and all kinds of other things normal people don't have time for to achieve this, it's not remotely out of the question you wouldn't be able to just do it without practice, I've finished 5 playthroughs now and know I couldn't pull off most of what's in the video without practice even if I knew about it, plus you're only seeing the successful run here, I'm sure there were plenty of attempts where he got grabbed.

Its a very simple A->B->C type game. Once you know where to go you just run from quest item to quest item and by the 3rd time its super easy. The game is laughably small once you learn it.

This was how I was able to beat Resident Evil 2 in about 2:45:00 in my teen years. Don't waste ammo, know the item placements and enemy placement, severely limit saves, rinse and repeat.

My Insanity run was just a bit over 3 hours, haven't done a full run since the but with the unlocks and the new exploits discovered since then, I can see this easily being a lot quicker.

Just finished and this one is right up there with 2, 4, and 5.

I'd be surprised if anything tops it for me in 2026, especially considering how little MS, Sony, and Nintendo all have going on this year.

I started replaying RE3R tonight after finishing it for the third time after I beat Requiem.

I just so much more prefer 3R to 2R. The pacing alone. Even the puzzles maintain the flow.

Go ahead, I get it.

season 6 dewey largo GIF

I went ahead and got the bonus book (written by Chris Redfield no less) that makes dodging easier and a coin that when held increases defense. Also playing on Hardcore with an infinite ammo pistol. Good times ahead. This is why it's one of the best.

I think it's more about field of vision since in 3rd person you can see a much wider angle of your proximity, you can see enemies from behind a good few seconds before they reach melee attack range etc, giving you precious second or two advantage on moving.

In 1st person you have to keep your wits about you a lot more.

I love RE3R, the shooting is great, I love the dodge, the game is replayable as fuck. Yeah, people are mad that it got some cuts, but the original is right there and still plays like a dream.

if this mod ever comes out it ll turn RE3RE into the best modern RE game ever

Oh boy...I need a break. :messenger_dizzy::messenger_astonished:

So....finally beat the "stalker" in the Water Treatment plant....and Emily transformed into a fucking abomination. Leon had to put her down or at least, Emily just collapsed. I kinda had a weird feeling something would happen since in the Care Center there were 2 beds and I figured the other bed was from the one they experimented on. UGH. That was fucking brutal man.

Dont worry, he missed her vital spots
When you stop and think about if Grace hasnt put Emily in danger cause of a 3 button puzzle that she coudnt solve alone, Marie would have been saved too, also Grace not be able to figure out that the monster was another little girl was stupid af, so killing her had no impact at Grace, like Emily death had ( i girl that she just meet like an hour before ).

Lok, I was just trying to be funny with that idiotic line /meme, edit your reply please since my previous post shows 😉

I created a monster dammit !

Doesn't look anime enough?
On a completely technical visual level, the DLSS 5 one does look better, but on an ascetic level it looks like just what it is, they took the original visuals and just slapped a layer of that homogenous AI genericness over the top of it, so it looks better, but also more generic and somehow more "not real" looking than the character model made on a computer already is, just my 2 cents.
