Shouldn't we be getting the next gen AMD CPUs by the end of this year ? And usually the 3D cache version of that the following year / months ?

If you're on a 5800x3d or older this is probably a good upgrade but I can't see it for anyone else unless you've got money to burn. My 7800x3d is doing great.

It has the same TDP as my I7 14700k (with pl2 limited on bios)

INTEL WAS ALWAYS AHEAD I KNEW IT1!!!!!

3x the price of 270K for similar MT.

People on 5800X3D probably don't have DDR5 laying around, meaning the upgrade would probably be $1500+ if they want a decent amount of RAM.

"Pricing has not been disclosed yet."

Prepare your anus
This is the big thing.

Beastly performance but I'm fully expecting a $900 price or more, which is honestly batshit insane.

The price to perf is ultimately what's going to matter, if it's a gigantic leap above other CPUs then it's warranted, but if it's only marginally faster than a 9800x3D then its absolutely not worth the money, the x3D CPUs are already poor value as it is.

There will be literally zero gains in gaming for this vs the 9950X3D, FYI. That's not what this is intended for.

2 years ago, I upgraded from a 3700x to a 5800x3D and the difference was enormous.

I was going to build a new PC this year, but then the whole RAM crap happened and now I'm going to wait until prices settle down. I'm not unhappy with my PC but it is five years old now. I'd like a more modern PC but I'm too frugal to pay ransom prices to do it. 😂

Too late, too much power, not enough gaming performance data but will likely be on par with 9850X3D while costing $900+.
At this point anyone interested might as well wait for a 12C 1CCD Zen6 part with 3D cache. Chances are that this one will be miles better for gaming while not being a furnace.
