It will when you have shortages + price increases. At least with the chip mess in the pandemic, that was just shortages. And it's not like PS4 wasn't a very good value proposition at launch, the fact that PS3 was still kicking along in those years, which was not the case with PS4, shows what you refuse to see for some reason.I doubt this will be replicated next gen. Unless PS6 launches in current PS5 DE price.
But Sony did not stop production of old consoles after next gen launch, it still goes on for years.
And Sony did not have to increase the price of their consoles six years in. That proves nothing.
