🏎️ F1 2026 - let's go!!!

So its clear the new chassis are amazing for racing but goddamn the engine rules suck.

As a Hamilton fan its at least nice to see him hetting back up to speed. Dude clearly had a torrid time in the ground effect / venturi regs, but he's definitely come alive this year. Just hoping he can keep it up for the season.

Congrats to Kimi in his first win and honestly the first half of the race was what its all about and even LeClerc and Ham goong at it as the Mercs drove away with it made it worthwhile.

F1 is now woke, climate change nonsense that will end up fully electric.

I've hated every second of the new season.

The only good thing is another English/British driver is leading the championship. 🇬🇧💪🏻

It will always converge this way. Engine manufacturers are paying big money to develop the engines so they want it to be relevant to their commercial side of things in some way. Leading F1 with an engine that is useful only in F1 is not a good investment, hence the pivot to Hybrid over the past decade as hybrid and electric vehicles become increasingly the norm on public roads. While noone is expecting the average commuter to end up with an engine made of the same exotic materials and tolerances of an F1 engine, some of the technology and ideas do actually trickle down initially to the performance sector and eventually become more mainstream.

and if you guys notice, in recent times, F1 is very much a social media driven thing, for better or worse. A lot of people are caring more and more about the social life of the drivers, with racing and other stuff below

Kimi Talibantonelli having his second amazing win. And with 14+ seconds advantage!!! Mercedes went to the future and stole a car from there. That's the only way to have this machine

Sum up

Certainly an improvement excitement wise over a regular Suzuka procession where almost zero overtaking happens. Curious to see what would have happened if Kimi didnt get the safety car pitstop advantage. Glad Bearman was ok.

Wait what? So the drivers have no control over when the extra power of the battery will be deployed. How did no News channel or content creators made stuff on this info. wtf

Terrible disappointment once again. This season is not worth it and I stopped watching. Artificial overtaking and cars slowing down way too fast. Boring to watch and unnecessarily dangerous.

The regulations are horrible. It's just like how some of the drivers have stated that we're witnessing battery championship. It's not about taking corners perfectly anymore but about being smart about harvesting and deploying, sometimes it's random and it may lead to unexpected situations like Russell's sudden loss of power or Bearman's very dangerous crash. The best we can hope for is we'll get only a bare minimum of 3 seasons before new regulations.

The only small positive is that Russell won't have an easy WDC. Kimi seems to be comfortable with these regulations and he'll put up a fight.

Gotta agree I'm not feeling it with the new cars , Its like when my wife puts my head under the covers when she farts ...it just stinks
F1 will change the rules in the near future, and maybe will change this Mario Kart mushroom thing. And if you wife change what she eats, maybe her farts won't stink too - unless you're into it. No judgement

So sad to watch the downfall of RBR. With GP leaving after 2027 and going to McLaren we pretty much only have Hannah left from the OG's. It can also mean Max will be leaving as well, either completely or he'll sign with Mercedes.

That's a logical thing to do. There were some other races in the past (like Spa) where the forecast was very clear and no one tried to make changes to avoid heavy rain (and thunderstorms in Miami's case). A more compact racing Sunday is still a better option than sitting in the garage and not racing.

Ok I did not see this coming this fast.
F1 agrees plan to ditch '50/50' engine power split for 2027

The idea is to ditch the notional 50/50 power split between the internal combustion engine and electrical elements and move to a ration that is much closer to 60/40.

It said that the aim was to increase the power of the internal combustion element by 50kW through a fuel-flow increase, with the electrical element being pulled back from 350kW to 300kW.

I got into f1 this year. However it seems like one of the worst possible times to get into the sport based off of all of the drama. Plus it was dreadful with only 3 races and the long wait for Miami. That news cycle was ramped up by sheer boredom seemingly. This is my first and only motorsport I have followed but it is nicer following this vs other sports.

The memes, man. Get to know the memes and you're fine

Whoa that's crazy!

Max to Ferrari in 2027??

Him and Charles can fight like the brothers they are lol
if Lewis retires and Max leaves... F1 will have a crisis of identity. im mkt sure which driver can carry the torch.
Lewis is seeing that can't deliver more for the sport - and Ferrari is the worst. Max is not only in the same position, but everyone at Redbull that worked with him, and he liked, left. Both well known best of the best, so makes sense for them

But F1 having identity crisis? Nah. Basically everyone now is a great driver, and two rookies can mix things up for the best like past year
I love all the ones that show world champs and have lance stroll in there among them

For sure! At the top of the grid, Kimi, Lando, and Piastri all have great careers ahead of them. Kimi seems to be the most promising with his attitude and skills. Seems very likable.

Piastri has the skills, but his charisma won't carry the sport.

Lando has a ton of fans, so he'll definitely be one of the most popular for years to come.

I think I am more of a fan of oscar ps3 these days. I never cared for lando but then again this is my first season with this stuff and I started caring about this stuff after drive to survive

Being a Max fan, even as a passing interest is making me think of watching other formats. The recent Nurburgring 24h race was so fun to follow.

Saw on the news the prostitutes in Montreal are threatening to go on strike for this year's event.

I fear the race may be compromised or cancelled altogether.
