Western game development is a mess these days. But Fable did feel a bit rough (especially with animations).

Personally at this point after the Harry Potter game which I believe Fable will be compared too - its only advantage would be deeper RPG system which remains to be see how Playground is going to deliver it.

PR after PR after PR, bullshit after bullshit after bullshit, promises upon promises upon promises, no show after no show etc etc...And the worst thing ? the few ones that actually released (Redfall/Halo infinite/Avowed/Starfield etc) not only didn't lit the world on fire buy were actually forgettable experiences.
This company man... they'll only have the Steam "feature" to save them come next gen 'cause when it comes to actual games... It will be another repeat of the previous one, they just can't help themselves (judging by the same PR bullshit that's been going on these past few days).

It was supposed to come out in 2025, but delayed to 2026. And it can't even hit 2026 Fall. It has obviously hit major road bumps along the way. People expecting Witcher 3 level of greatness are in for a rude awakening. Unfair pressure for a studio that has never developed an RPG before

Not really surprising given how most of the footage they showed in their big gameplay revel was running like shit.
People are always quick to damage control with "it's sill in development". But if your game is releasing in less than a year and you can't even get a few cherry picked clips to run at 30fps it's not really a good sign.

Eight years. Playground was hiring people to work on Fable back in the beginning of 2018, and honestly was probably well before then since they took over from Lionhead in 2016.
Microsoft is dogshit and Fable is a perfect example of it.
Lionhead didn't even want to make a new Fable game. Then Molyneux left and Microsoft took over, put them on a new Fable, but rejected a single player Fable 4 pitch. Microsoft told Lionhead they either make it a live service game or they shut down the studio. Lionhead had never made a GaaS before and it was a disaster, so Microsoft closed them in 2016 anyway and put Playground on it.
Eight years later they release information that shows they are removing everything that made Fable a Fable game, and their single playable character looks like she is constantly sniffing farts. The reception is so bad they release a trailer with a "character creator" with zero male animations, and now we are hearing about more delays. Shocking! Microsoft might be the most mismanaged gaming company on the planet.
No shot this game is as good as Hogwarts Legacy. I don't even like Harry Potter, but Hogwarts is a well made AAA game and I have zero faith in Fable at this point.

Sure, Fable will most certainly tell a better story, give the player more dialogue choice/branching paths and have better character customization but I'm guessing that's it.
CD has far bigger scope & scale, better animations, deeper combat and much deeper RPG systems. All while being much more visually impressive to boot

The graphics and high presentation values will wreck this game.
Gamers want to do fun / goofy **** in Fable and everything taking 6 months to model and implement will be it's undoing. It'll have a limited sandbox because they wanted it to look better than Assassin Creed Shadows.

Personally my most anticipated game, but a good call if it was going to release anytime this year around GTA VI. Bad call if GTA VI doesn't even release this year. Anything launching around the same time as GTA is going to under perform. If GTA releases in November, then there may as well be nothing else releasing the rest of the year.

Fable has never been a series I've been into. At all.
Halo and Gears have really only been the Xbox franchises that I have loved and even those I wouldn't lose much sleep.
