Tales of Eternia Remastered is PEGI rated for Nintendo Switch

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Seems they missed the release date by a few weeks though

I watched a fan subbed version of the anime back in like 2003 (what a weird time to be alive), always wanted to play it!

Between this, Splatoon Raiders, and all the other little Nintendo announcements, it sure seems like a Direct got cancelled, huh?

Nintendo is trying this new thing called not marketing their brand new system at all.

It's a bold strategy.

Oddly enough, it's working but it feels like a fucking hype black hole.

Ah yes the most underrated Tales game, I remember very vividly this being the last JRPG I played on PS1 before moving to PS2 and back then I genuinely thought it was the sequel to Tales of Destiny since it was called Destiny II in the west.

It would be a nice touch if they kept the original translation of the artes, they are kind of a meme in the west "Omega Demon Chaos!" "Demon Lightning Hammer!"

Nice, this is definitely one of the better Tales games IMO. I love the graphical style, and the battle system is really fun. I own the PS1 and PSP versions… might have to triple dip on this one.

I like the disc 2 boss music:

Now this is one that actually deserves a remaster on modern platforms. I feel like even a lot of Tales and JRPG fans in general would've missed this one.

It's an great game. From the time the Tales of series used to have a lot of funny moments, I miss that. An good remaster with the original opening music and japanese audio back would be really nice. This game have a lot of great extra content.

While I am not interested in the game (already own it), and it's a good entry in the series.

Don't sleep on this one if you have not played it.

Not sure why but this smells like digital only. Already own this on PS and PSP but why not if its coming to Switch/Switch 2 right? I really want to starting seeing the Tales games that never made it out of Japan at some point. Eternia is a solid entry and I really enjoyed it back in the day.

This was a good one, but I haven't revisited it in years. I imported the European PSP release since it inexplicably never came out in the US on there and it was a definite hidden gem.

Curious how good of a job they'll do remastering a game this old. Bamco isn't exactly great at it most of the time.

Easily one of the best Tales game, with one of the worst English dubs I've ever heard. Hopefully this remaster has language options, like the latest releases.

Anything they can do to not have to remaster Abyss :pie_eyeroll:
Yeah Abyss would need a lot more than a simple remaster to make it worth playing. Rewrite Luke's personality, re-record the English dub (only reason Eternia's is not the worst is Abyss existing), remake the combat from scratch to have enemies react to your characters free-running around them.

I was just applying logic to the situation for priority of Tales games that need attention. You're the one who got defensive. lol.
Disagreeing with someone isn't being defensive, go back to making threads for mediocre shonen battle anime if all you're going to do is make stuff up to try and make your argument sound more justified

Tales of the Abyss is a mediocre shounen battle game though... You sound mad.

I love this game but man, I remember even back when I first played it in the 90s, I thought it was one of the most cliched JRPGs of all time.

Kid with a "strong sense of justice" who dreams of adventure + his bitchy tsundere childhood friend (who totally doesn't have romantic feelings for him), living life in a quiet peaceful village, when a Mysterious Girl from a faraway land suddenly shows up being chased by some Bad Guys (you know they're bad guys because she's cute and they're scary looking), so they leave the village together to pursue her quest and stay one step ahead of the bad guys chasing after her.

Where have I heard this one before??

Oooooh you're one of those guys that has nothing of value to say and just tries to downplay anything someone else says by implying you've made such a big brain gotcha statement that you somehow upset them, I see now, enjoy your day, I now know talking to you any further is an actual waste of my time.

Except where Reid doesn't really care about justice or adventure, and would rather have spent his days leisurely in the village hunting and eating. And you could say a lot of things about Farah, but she's definitely not a tsundere (Keele, though...) and if she does have romantic feelings for anyone, it's probably for Ras.

You're doing the same thing though.... In fact it was your first post here by downplaying Eternia.
