Did the game just plateaued at 13k on a Friday?
That's funny af, because that was exactly my counter argument to him. That it was revisionist BS that the OG movie never once hinted at.Dude, the creators said that the Matrix is an metaphor to their gender disphoria. It was one hell of an revisionism that only idiots bought it. They never, ever said something close to that in old interviews, just recently, because of Matrix 4, that piece of trash. I mean, they can say whatever they want about Matrix 2 or 3, these movies are mid at best, but leave the original Matrix out of it.

Tried to play yesterday.. we got stomped by sweats with purple shields and golden weapons..Maybe the masochistic sickos are bored of getting stepped on by the sweatlords and moved on to the ultimate cucking Sony experience in Saros?
That's my working theory.

LMAO HYPOCRITS .. leaving arc raiders ccu thread open though?![]()
It's so damn insane to think how real a fucking ass retarded game/company IS the representation of everything wrong in the industry across the board:
Creative bankruptcy
Chasing GaaS trends
DEI/Wokeness
Bloated and inefficient production
Hubris/ taking the consumer for granted.
Already, Marathon´s failure (and discourse) should´ve sent a clear and strong message to Sony (but we know it wouldn't be enough)....Bungie needs to die.
Sometimes I'm in the mood for long open world JRPGs and sometimes I prefer to play quick arcades. So what kind of flop do you guys prefer?
Do you like a Concord style flop, where it just crashes and burns spectacularly right out of the gate?
Or do you prefer a Marathon style flop where it suffers a slow agonizing decline into oblivion?

Hard to say but I think the slow agonizing death spiral of Marathon has been some of the best entertainment in life, I'm 47 and this thread makes me feel 27 again giving me a zest for life daily! So what kind of flop do you guys prefer?

I played that vampire bloodlines game and it had like less than 500 players concurrent. I could find matches all the time and barely needed to wait. It's hard trying to figure out what's happening with this game. On one hand I see this thread constantly saying it's dead, but I log in and find games quickly. Biggie hasn't pulled the plug yet, if ever. So not sure how much time to invest more into it. Especially when there is 0 road map. This game is so weird.
There's over 400 Bungie employees making Marathon now, up from 300 before launch. It's hard trying to figure out what's happening with this game. Have you ever noticed anything interesting about the art style and tone of the majority of today's single player games? Now compare that to the art styles of single player games from 30 years ago.Whichever convinces Sony to turn away from GaaS and go back to making halo-tier single-player games. That's what I want from them.

This.A crushing defeat. The louder, the better.

It has nothing to do with engines and everything to do with (aging) demographics.I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Maybe I'm dumb...?
I would think more games being made with fewer engines, and games being made to run across multiple platforms would reduce some of the uniqueness we saw back in the PS1 and N64 days.

Oh, sure. But "the kids" have already found their GaaS games and they're not budging. My son is 14. He plays Fortnite and Roblox. His mind is not open to playing anything else. His PS5 has sat gathering dust since I built his PC.It has nothing to do with engines and everything to do with (aging) demographics.
Kids are naturally open to new experiences. They're much more likely to try a new social GAAS game than anything that resembles what their parents played as kidsOh, sure. Kids will always be the primary economic driver of the games industry. Parents buy what their kids want to play and drastically reduce their own game time once they have families. Not to mention those kids aren't in a position to buy hardware in the current economy, or the near future economy (next 5-7 years).
It's not just this. It's that they're a soon to be shrinking pool. If you were 18 and played Mario Bros 3 in 1988, you're 56 today. That conveyor belt feeds into a furnace.Yes, Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials may not be an expanding pool, but it's the pool that can afford to buy hardware and games.
