Saros has sold 300K+ in its first two weeks, generating over $22M (@alineaanalytics estimates).

On Biome 6. Just got the Chakra weapon which is supposed to be OP but I"m not seeing it. I guess maybe I need better perks. It does do massive damage though.
Myriad Chakram is the best one. The rest are trash.

Same goes for Smart Rifle vs all other rifles.

And Repeater Crossbow vs all other crossbows.

Smart Rifle is trash vs bosses, so imo there are only two good weapons in the game that deal good damage to both boss and mobs. The rest take too long even at high levels which means you will keep getting hit with projectile spam and it turns into a clusterfuck.

Launch-aligned, our estimates show that Saros is actually selling a little slower than Returnal, despite there being only about 8M PS5s in the wild when Returnal launched vs the 93M+ install base Saros launched into...

returnal benefited greatly by being one of a few ps5 releases early on. not saying these aren't good, well-made games, just that they're definitely niche, &, to that extent, performing well enough sales-wise...

I think this is the one I just got. It has blue disc and shoots insanely fast. I'm destroying things with this one. Also shoots from really far as well. Still prefer smart rifle's auto aim in a way but like you said the damage is just kind of crap.

Lightly Press L2 to activate the alt fire. It brings back the discs faster.

Did a full run from 1-6 last night. Took 1 hours and 45 minutes. Did it to check out some other weapons i never used. Maybe it was because i had the damage increase modifiers up, but almost every weapon felt good to shoot. In terms of power weapons, Disrupter is complete garbage. Illumine is amazing. Nova Flame is incredible against any mini bosses. One shots everyone. At least with damage modifiers. Finished at level 100.

i understand the complaints. It's not as good as returnal. it's missing that it factor Returnal had with its setting, weapons, and story twists. But the boss fights are better. Graphics are way better. Combat is still phenomenal and probably better even if the weapons feel a bit too samey. It's definitely longer. What? like double the boss fights? Way more enemy variety. It's still fun to play.

Shame it flopped even harder than Returnal. I think Housemarque needs to stop making rougelike games. the market just isnt there. Do a proper single player shooter with a good story. They have a lot of different mechanics here they can use to make it uncharted like game with platforming and combat. I understand its hard to make those kind of games but ND did the first one with just 75 people. Housemarque now has more. im afraid sony is going to shut down this studio when clearly the talent is there. the game is phenomenal.

I'm in the process of doing the same. Except I'm skipping Biome 4. Going straight from 3 to 5. I just got to Biome 5 and I'll continue my run tonight. I haven't finished the game yet, I'm on Biome 6 but I honestly enjoy it more than Returnal. Returnal just seems so simplistic compared to Saros. Dash and jump are your only real abilities to avoid damage in Returnal which in turn limits what the devs can throw at you. It's why I was able to beat so many of the bosses on my first try in Returnal because I either had to dash out of the way or jump that's it. Saros I need to parry, jump, shield, or dash. Sometimes you can use 1 or the other but than you limit your damage output if you use the wrong one or you get take damage.

I thought the story in Returnal was horrible and hearing what the devs said about how the came up with the story made it even worse for me. As long as I can understand the story in Saros with having to read 40 different theories on reddit I'll be satisfied.

I want to play this game. But I won't pay 80€ for that. This game, like E33, should cost 50$. It's a game with a small budget, and the price should be smaller. Even Nintendo are doing this price strategy. And based on their results, it's the best strategy even with games with high metacritic.

I paid whatever the game cost and I was fine with that but I'm big into supporting devs and their games. Especially a company like Housemarque. I completely understand people who don't want to do that though. I'm in a very fortunate position financially.

You just dont know how to use them or didnt get good perks, the killing times with the other 2, and especially the reaping one are way faster than any other weapon.

Enemies just pop like ballons with reaping

yeah, i tried some of the weapons last night. they are all really good once you get at least 4-5 perks on them.

For reaping, you just need to ignore the description or the ring around you that in theory is for melee builds, just keep pressing alt-fire and spam r2 as fast as you can.
I cant even explain from where the damage comes, it is just a bizarre OP weapon...

yeah, the descriptions are confused. i have 100% completion in some weapons and i have no idea wtf the descriptions are talking about.

hell, i cant even tell you the difference between the smart rifle or the onslaught rifle. i just know smart rifle is better. i was shocked to find a non-smart file that had auto hit enabled. i thought it was a smart rifle perk.

Onslaught doesnt have autoaim and bullets should do more damage, but since you probably miss half of them, it end up being worse than the other 2 with spectral rounds (what make your bullets auto-aim)

For people who can perfectly aim, onsalught is probably the strongest rifle in term of damage.

Weapons in returnal were generally more interesting with more interesting perks to unlock imo, but the shooting and platforming feels better in saros.

Completionist tip: Some logs only spawn if you die in a biome. So if you're missing stuff and it somehow doesn't spawn during runs - you probably never died there. Getting killed once or twice solves it.

My friend finished this yesterday told me the story. I do not have a PS5 and as this will not come to PC anymore, I don't care lol.

> MC is Arjun who is violent and volatile who kills his friend Sebastian because he was about to tell Nitya (his wife) about his cheating and more shit stuff he did.
> After killing he became an alcoholic? and miserable.
> Nitya receives an offer to go to Corsica (the yellow planet) but she didn't want to go rather be at home with Arjun I guess
> After a violent night and a fight where they break up, she agrees to go to the expedition.
> She moves on and falls in love with Kiira (another expedition member).
> The Yellow (main force, basically something that corrupts you and feeds on your remorse, desires, sins etc) takes hold of the team and they kill each other off, the shore and blaze and blah blah, a team member becomes the new king after killing the old one. King wants to make Nitya a priestess but she evades somehow and makes the AI and the replicator/cycle stuff, Kiira is also killed and becomes a shade/ghost/spirit
> Expedition 4 has Arjun in it and he finds himself in the planet with the voice/Yellow slowly corrupting him, wanting him to take over the new king.
> Ending 1: default, you have to do this. You kill the king, final boss, you take his crown and Arjun becomes the new king, succumbing to his desires/yellow. He also is seen grasping Nitya hand in his King body horror form and this isn't the real one, just an apparition made by Yellow.
> Secret Ending: you kill king but do not take the crown, you accept that Nitya has moved on and you reflect on your crimes/murder of Sebastian. You meet Nitya who tells that it's a new tomorrow and we have to move on not give in to our crimes/sins and get corrupt/power hungry shit.

MC's wife didn't dump him, imo Arjun is just a shitty guy who can't have stable relationships.

That's it. imo Returnal had a better story.

I don't get it a story makes you not want to play the game at all? I'm on Biome 6 and I've had a ton of fun with the game. Not sure how the story ends but nothing is going to eliminate the fun I've had with this game at this point. I might think the game has a shitty ending but the story of a game and how fun it is to play are two completely different things.

Didn't they initially report slow sales for Yotei?

Ain't no way this game sold well.

Marathon and this are now back to back bombas.

Sony really losing the plot.

Oh I don't think this game sold well I just don't trust Alinea at all. Hard to say Sony is losing the plot when they are recording record profits. That's the thing about Sony is they've set themselves up as the #1 console platform and they are racking in so much money from 3rd party. So having the few 1st party games they release not do so well doesn't really matter. As long as the games review well that's really all that matters. Astrobot didn't sell all that well either but it won GOTY and just brings further prestige to PS.

I think this generation could lead to a major backlash when ps6 hits.

Imagine ps6 doesn't launch with a console seller that isn't woke, and this gen remains a "meh" line up.

It would further make me now go BACK to pc gaming and just play Nintendo games. Hell it even opens up opportunities for Xbox to be considered by me.

PS5 has been their biggest fumble for me personally.

I don't think so because I don't think the majority of gamers care. 52% of all revenue Sony makes is from like 10 GAAS games so we know that's what the core of their community cares about. On top of that go back to xbox for what? To get Xbox games that are already coming to PS? Plus it's not like Xbox is releasing bangers on their ecosystem either. I guess PC could be an option but with prices rising so much how many people are really going to make that move. At best I could see 5-10 million leaving and that's being very generous IMO.

On top of that I'm not sure how much people really care about woke. A lot of people on here call Spiderman 2 that, and that game continues to sell well. I play with about 6 friends online who are casual gamers. They play a lot of live services games and the occasional SP game. They were telling me I needed to play Spiderman 2 ASAP. None of them mentioned it being woke or that it sucked. Hell I didn't even know people had an issue with Spiderman 2 until I joined this website. Yotei continues to sell well also. I just think this site is disconnected from what the majority of casual gamers think.

Hell if you ask people on this site most of them will tell you COD sucks yet it's one of the top selling games every single year. I do think PS6 will sell less because I just don't think most people will see a need to move over from PS5. Which is part of the reason Sony is focusing on MAUs now. I think consoles will start to become like Nvidia GPUs where maybe you skip a gen and then come into the next one.

Platinum trophy unlocked

"The sun is eternal"

A very rewarding experience visually, in terms of gameplay, and the sound design with the Pulse headphones.

Of course, Returnal is superior in both difficulty and overall game completion, as it included the Tower of Ascension mode.

I missed having an underwater biome like in Returnal, which I loved, even though I hate underwater levels in any game.

I really wish they would have made a way to go from Biome 5 to 6. I didn't know I would be forced to go back to the base.

I've tried to use the Chakram weapons but man they are just don't compare to the smart rifle to me. The damage is great but I can move around and dodge way easier with the smart rifle. If you get the perk to power up your power weapon as well the damage isn't nearly as bad since you can start using both.

You can skip Biome 5 next run and go directly from 4 to 6. But, yeah it definitely cuts down on the Biome 5 replay ability.

Saw the epilogue and mopped up the final trophies this eve. The one that gave me the most problems?

WFo3tHufkNyYhDF7.jpg

All the other weapon trophies popped in normal play, but to get this one I had to put on the modifier that decreases damage against enemies at the highest level, run right up to this stupid robot cunt and shoot him in the face point blank 7 times.

Fuck the shotguns.

Really enjoying the game so far. It's hella addictive. I believe I'm in the second last biome. Getting to the boss is all well and good... I just keep dying near the end of the 3rd phase to Nova projectiles coming from off-screen

Anyway.. I read somewhere that the last biome disables second chance and you have to complete it in one go? Shiiiiiiit

Also I don't fully understand those ripsaw weapons. Still trying to make sense of them lol

IMO only the reaper and myriad chakram are the only ones worth a damn. Ripsaw would be good for a boss fight but in rooms with tons of enemies it's to hard to use.

If you find a reaper chakram pick it up stop and learn how to use it. It's very OP. It was like using the pylon gun in returnal where everything just dies quickly.

Might give it a go on the earlier bosses. Just beat the game! So much of fun 9/10 for me

Finished Saros today. What a game. The gunplay is just fantastic. If I have one complaint - it's that it's really hard to use the alt-fire repeater crossbow and dodge at the same time. Had to adjust my fingers into unnatural positions for it.

But anyway, fantastic. The music and effects were top notch, and some of the best use of the Dualsense ever.

Yea this is my main complaint alt fire + dodging is not easy. Maybe I could have remapped some buttons but I hate having to do that in games.

Got the game a week ago but only played about 2 hours, it seems that there's no more sword but the melee is already there.

Graphics are really a step up compared to Returnal, so far so good.

Bought the game and gonna get it going, the real question is when can I expect to get cucked?

All jokes aside, what tips for going in? Any wish I knew before I started tips?

Its a fantastic game. A bit on the easy side, but if you liked Returnal, you should get it asap.
9,5/10 for me, and only beaten by Resident Evil 9 so far this year.
I hope you're right, I could not do Returnal, kept dying on the first boss even with save glitch, it was infuriating, I would get so close to beating him but after like 20+ tries I gave up. The punishment starting again without progression killed it for me and I love love loved what I did play. So I'm hoping Saros allows me to push through, the fact that progression can be kept and built upon with each run gives me hope.

These types of games we need but they just need to not make it roguelike as you said. Even make it harder but have checkpoints. It really puts a lot of gamers off because people just want to have a good time sometimes and their gaming session not to be a sweat fest.

You'll definitly enjoy the progression system in Saros. It removes all the stuff that made you give up on Returnal, and you can make it even easier by adjusting some parameters.

I couldn't find a remap that worked. And the Dualsense Edge won't let you bind a half press of L2 etc to a back paddle. Was definitely annoying. Especially since for me alt-fire was primary fire!

Hated Returnals difficulty spike by the second biome. Finished Saros last week and its my current goty. Final boss just needed a couple of tries to beat and you have modifiers to make it as hard or piss easy as you want to.

My fav moment was running 4 biome gauntlet just to see how op Arjun could get. Was cackling all the while beating a boss that looked intimidating on the first try.
