The Asylum at it again
I hope you replied with "OK, Boomer."I saw this teaser on Twitter because someone had retweeted it with "I hate Gen Xers with every fiber of my being."
If they sell it, I'll buy it.That is genius!!!
Cool He-man drone show
damn, they are getting so good with these drone shows. I wonder how hard it is to program those sequences, how those drones know to stay in such a rigid formaiton, and just how wide a viewing angle it has. Definitely gonna eat the lunch of fireworks for a lot of big events.
when someone figures out how to combine fleets of synchronized drones with those LED projectors that show an image on spinning fan blades, THEN we will have filly realized 3D images in the sky.You just type in "Drones Form Skelator".....and it does it.
I kinda want this.
edit: clicking on the visit IG seems to still works and shows the Sword Of Power "cup"

DOPE!!!
I just got back from an advance screening. I'm also a child of the 80's and still have Castle Grayskull.
I really enjoyed it.
To address some earlier concerns:
Earth segment quite short and has a great payoff.
Some really great and humorous references to the cartoon.
Highly respectful of source material especially relative to most Hollywood adaptions of childhood cartoons.
That was my biggest concern, that he was only He-man for the last third of the movie or only in the final scenes.I just got back from an advance screening. I'm also a child of the 80's and still have Castle Grayskull.

Masters of the Universe Reviews - Metacritic
After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila...www.metacritic.com
53 on Metacritic so far. I'll probably still go see it this weekend.
It's a shame that movie bombed, it was absolutely fantastic IMO.This movie is predicted to tank harder than the D&D movie.
Couple questions:
Is man-at-arms a wise cracking show off like the commercials portray him?
How do they handle him being Teela's dad, does she just know that she's adopted or is the sorceress connection gone.
Do they have a combative, messed up relationship like they said in the interviews?
How much of the humor is like he-man crashing the sky sled or this:
A drive in with sound piped in to take advantage of car audio sounds like a great way to do a film like this. This is playing at the local drive-in theater, I think I'll take the gf and go see it next week sometime.
I have a Wrangler and the nights are crisp where I live, I think I'll pop the top off and bring a blanket. But yea, this is the perfect kind of summer movie for a drive-in. Goonies is a fantastic choice as well.A drive in with sound piped in to take advantage of car audio sounds like a great way to do a film like this.
Sadly, where I live, the temps are so high that even at night a parking lot is sorching and drive-ins are mostly unfeasible. Did manage to take the kids to see The Goonies at one during COVID though.
