Yeah it's a bit tricky but not that hard.

Few tips:
- sim steering, TC off, SC off
- manual transmission (keep it in 2nd gear)
- drift camera

I am just not good enough to control those vehicles like that but in all honesty I just started trying to learn how to drift today, never did any of the drifting missions in any prior FH

I'm with you. I'm shite at them.
I recommend trying different Formula Drift vehicles and/or downloading the most popular drift tunes for them. Ford Mustang has been my favorite in the past FH games, but here I've done most of the drift zones in a BMW M2. With a car like that you can focus either or long fast drifts or deeper slower ones if the drift zone is quite short.

The FE Mustang really made a difference with the drift skills boost. I looked on the auction house and there are a bunch of them going for a low price.

Not necessarily that for me - I'll get the car into the corner and will start earning points but then I'll either spin the car out of control or go through the flags and fail. I'm just literally not that good and getting it to work on a controller - always struggled with these events I'm lucky to one-star them.

I always wonder if they revamped progression this could be the greatest driving game of all time.
Why not give an absolutely shit car like a d and then move us slowly and increasing difficulty where u can't adjust the difficulty,
It lowers the difficulty when you have lost a few times.

I basically starter and the game gifted me a Mercedes one
I tuned it to the max and basically all the speed zones, traps and danger signs became piss easy.
I hate progression like this defeats the whole purpose of the game.
Imagine you are given the best sword in a darksouls game at the start and u can 1 shot each and everything , where's the fun in that

They gave you an option, you are the one who chose to use it. The problem is that people lack self control in these games.

At the start of the game the way I approached it was to ignore the powerful cars and pick a really low class car and run it in a speed trap to get a base number to start with. After that I would slowly add one ore two modifications and run it again and see how much closer I was to the required speed. The goal was to upgrade a shit car with the bare minimum number of parts that it took to beat it. That was way more fun than showing up to a knife fight with a bazooka.

I'm wondering if we'll get a car as broken as the 1969 Lola #6 Penske Sunoco T70 MkIIIB. That thing dominated it's class and nothing even came close. Personally, I'm just happy that the Honda NSX-R GT is available so readily. I had to pay through the nose for it in FH5. It was my usual open world car, even after I got the Sesto FE.

A class is the comfiest class.

Damn does FH6 hit different. I don't know if it's simply down to it being in Japan (finally), but the atmosphere, the vibe of the game, and just how it handles its business is far and away better than the happy-go-lucky FH5. There's still some of that in FH6, but with a layer of… "Grunge" over it I guess. Simple things like how street races are presented when you're loading in, feeling more risqué and illegal, to how barn finds are presented like our character is filming on a handheld camera, and there's some shake and imperfection there. It's cool.

It honestly brings back similar feelings from FH3 (my favorite), and even NFS Carbon, whenever I'm driving around the city at night. FH5 NEVER captured me like FH6 has done, to the point where, like FH3, I want nothing more than to go home and keep playing it.

My impression was complete opposite - it's still fun to play, but everything about it feels extremely safe and sanitised, the Ned Flanders of racing games.

Steam charts:
  • 298,534players right now
  • 298,73124-hour peak
  • 298,731all-time peak 5 minutes ago

This will reach over 300,000 within minutes. The game is unstoppable!

Interesting how there is no CCU thread for this game when we get one for every game released these days, hmm.

I just found out that this game supports cross saves! A first for this franchise.

Pretty cool if people wanna try it out on Game Pass and continue elsewhere.

A class is comfy, and with just enough speed. Any class up to A really, nothing beats racing at night through Tokyo in a Civic Type R.

Ive landed on the Supra RZ as my A class car for now, its got amazing grip and you can often ignore the yellow-red lines through corners. Supra at max A upgrade and the KRZ body.

Is it just me or is Jordan dreamy? I haven't started touring Japan yet, I just keep thinking of his smile and the way my crotch feels when I see his smile.

Everything about the festival crap, presentation, cutscenes and characters is fucking atrocious. This is what they/them culture does to a mfer.

You guys keeping motion blur off or on short? I'm playing 4k 144hz extreme for reference.

I'm on console, following the game's recommendation.

Short for Performance mode. Usually I turn it off, but it's not egregious in this case like many others and doesn't lead to excessive smearing when camera panning.

Found the ultimate hack

Get the Subaru
Give the controller to your kids
1 hour later, level 100

Just need to get the last wristband and go to legend island and then Im pretty much done with it. Hope the expansions are cool and original.

Very underwhelmed by the graphics. I know I shouldn't have expected much since it's still chained to Series S but it was talked up a lot. PC version, all settings max.

When you get to Legend Island, you 'll also unlock the 20+ minute Gauntlet races, there's one for each 'flavor', like off road, street race etc.

In cloudy weather looks photoreal:

Kujees makes graphics packs. I don't have that exact car to check if he's modified things but look at all the comments saying it doesn't look that good for them on max settings. People are saying its cloudy weather but I see directional shadows there, not an overcast shadow, same weather I've seen in my game. The graphics are still ok though bar the things that need fixing.

Was that auto drive feature present in the previous games? Never used it but its nice to enjoy the scenery instead of using fast travel all the time lol
