Dude, this game is so fucking good.

You ever play a game where you're like "wow, the dev team and QA explored literally every single possible aspect of this game, from the map layouts, to the input frame timing, all the way to the QoL of the menus"

That's this game. This feels like a game that was 100% finished two years ago, and then they were like "okay, now let's find every little tiny aspect that isn't perfect yet and fix it".

I believe this game is a 10/10. Not because it's the greatest game I've ever played, but because I think it's the greatest game it can be.

Played about 4 hours of it and really enjoyed it. I think if you're like me and you grew up loving zelda oracle of seasons/ages, you will really vibe with it and the artstyle.

Just discovered the newspaper at the town center. I looove all those details. The world feels so grounded despite the minimalist look. Townsfolk running about; everyone's got something to say; Mina is already quite famous in certain circles.

Even details like the font they use are impeccable.

Mina is also self-aware and does talk now and then but isn't overly chatty like in most of your AAA game where protagonists are either dead silent all the time or can't stop talking.

They balance everything so well in this game.

Been playing on the Deck and it does feel like the right platform. I was considering the Switch version but I will get that one once they release it physically. 120Hz mode sounds nice, though.

I play Switch 2 100% docked on my OLED.....my only concern i saw with some of the reviews i watched yesterday is that the graphics appear to be overly sharp and kind of cluttered (cant think of the right word lol) on a big screen.....does the game have any settings that make it big screen friendly-er? lol

I was never a big fan of gb or gbc stuff though, o wish they'd have gone with a more 16-bit look.
They absolutely nailed the gbc look though, it just ain't my cup of tea.
FANTASTIC list of mods/difficulty options. Default is pretty tough, but you can tune it to cakewalk or absolutely brutal. Devs pay attention, more of you need to do this.

Hmm....that doesnt bode well for big screen players. I may wait until they possibly put a patch in to make it good for those who don't play on the tiny screen.

Did it with the hammer. The charge attack did some good work. My problem beating it was it felt like every time I had a bead on the moves the fucker would switch up the timing or pattern.

it's based on GameBoy Color pixel art. a CRT filter would make no sense really
