I agree, putting Jim Ryan in charge of anything right after a very critically successful PS4 generation was in the top 5 worst decisions Playstation ever made.

In no specific order:
- The gamble on Cell for the Playstation 3.
- The lack of support and death of the Playstation Vita.
- Dropping both XMB and Vita OS
- Charging for online multiplayer on Playstation Plus (charging for other stuff like the free* games was already good enough)
If you notice, a lot of my list happened around a specific timespan, but in general the PS4 had a big, positive upswing critically and commercially, by continuing the momentum from PS3's last years and kept that pace. All of that goodwill was brought into the Playstation 5.
Then (number 5), Jim Ryan officially became the head of Playstation and Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019.

Also that skyscape can be studied forever. It's like pondering an orb. Are those watercolors. Best use of watercolors I've ever seen. The edges of the shadows trailing off the foreground building give it away but damn if that isn't the best looking shit I've seen in a minute. This picture takes me to a strange new world. Reminiscent of the older D&D books before WotC became what they are today. Everybody thinks I hate human art because of my AI lobbyship but I love all art and don't differentiate by creator.

It's too soon to tell, but the good news with her right now is that she has her ear to the ground and is attempting to please Xbox fans within reasonable means, but she might be listening to them a bit too closely.
Product fans can only help someone in charge to a certain point.

I know what you mean but from their perspective if that produces sells that's what they will do. Cool different stuff comes from the indie field. AAA cannot take risks.

You're in a bit of a bubble, We all know Intergalactic will be a hit (ND never miss) and so will that God of war game (albeit with higher budgets). Their success isn't the reason why such talented devs and studios are fired, its the greedy leadership in America chasing whatever trends they see on a balance sheet.
It's Sony Japan's fault for allowing the American division to gain actual decision making power and ruin its legacy, waste billions of dollars and anger the loyal fanbase.

I don't hate Sony.
But I do dislike Jim Ryan. Verdict is still out on Hulst and Totoki as they continue to struggle upwards.
1 ship captain blinded by treasure and then 2 questionable ship captains aren't enough to make me hate the ship itself, nor the entire ship manufacturing company.

Jim Ryan has destroyed Playstation. It was obvious it would happen, as he was the "why would anybody play this" guy. He never liked or understood videogames. He was a manager. Hulst is also a manager, he is not a director or even a producer. he manages things.
And they are still on the same destructive path as Bluepoint has been killed years after Ryan's retirement.

I don't think we need an ICO remake, but a remaster would be awesome. A remake would open the door to some woke trash.

I think the slight difference is that Hulst feels like someone who will fold to pressure.
Jim Ryan did not seem like someone who would fold. He would have bullishly enacted any plan he had even if that lead to wiping ~80% of Sony studios out of existence, as long as his gaas plan succeeded somehow, someway to prove him right and earn Sony money.

I never said anything like that, in fact I said many times I was a big fan of Parappa, the Gravity Rush games, Echocrome, TLG, Astro Bot, Stellar Blade or the Death Starnding games to name a few. I was one of the fools who trusted them and even bought Knack.
I think they did a good job remaking with Bluepoint Demon's Souls or SotC. But it isn't my fault if they didn't have huge sales and if Bluepoint didn't want to make more remakes after them.
I also think it's a good idea that Hermen cleaned the house, cancelled the mobile games they were making and greenlighted for them Astro Bot, Stellar Blade or Death Stranding 2 instead, giving a bigger office for the internal and external development teams, who now would be again independent from each other.
