I don't think expectations, at least under Zaslav, are too high. They have to rebuild AUDIENCE favor after the complete collapse of the DCEU... They did good with Superman making more than the previous 4 DCEU movies but they still have a ways to go. I'm hopeful tho.
Someone needs to go back and add pupils to all the Bruce Timm style shows....would it be super freaky or juuuuust right?

My only major experience with Supergirl is from the 90's animated show. I always saw her as a more fun and upbeat version of Superman. This one just feels depressing and cringe. The planet is also the worst setting I could have imagined for her character.
Having eyecandy Supergirl would be too much to ask for in this day and age.

I agree about Superman. I was saying if the next two movies don't perform. Then I think a change will be made

Expectations are pretty low so that's not saying much.

It's not complicated, and they sorta hint at it, but the girl is shown but never really introduced, nor is there ANY mention of her quest for revenge alongside Supergirls. So damn strange, and I think it's hurting this film as folks have no real idea what the hell the movie is trying to do. They lean in on supergirl "I'm not a clean cut hero like superman...." sooooooooo, what do you offer in exchange?

Sorry for having standards and not wanting DC to turn into Power Rangers X MCU. You're free to like it, but if you're interested in reading only positive comments this is not the place, r/DC_Cinematic is more suited for that.
And yes, I'm really happy to see this universe crashing down. WB/Youtuber/fake fans have been asking for this reboot because Snyder was too dark.

Superman had a huge PVOD showing even though it was then quickly on MAX, was the top earner of 2025. It was middling at best at the box office but beating movies like Minecraft or Deadpool and Wolverine (a 2024 release, but Superman's 2025 was bigger than D&W's 2024) at VOD is impressive. There's also been almost a year of it being on MAX for people to watch.
Still don't know WTF Campea is smoking. The next big movie with Superman might do well but Supergirl feels like a side project that would be lucky to hit $375 million.
