Steam Machine Reviews

Of course they did. They are retarded.
I mean the hardware and software is pretty great but the ball has been dropped MAJORLY with the price. The best thing to do would've been partnering with Asus to keep cost in line.

I get being a private company and all and the urge to keep all the dollars but this is one of those times that they should've either subsidized or partnered up.

They weren't going to subsidize it. This is basically retail price post-RAM price spikes. The only way you are doing better than this is to get old inventory (like the one I mentioned in the first page).

I am hopeful it does well enough continue into the next iteration. I HATE big pcs nowadays. I do not want bigger pc parts I want smaller pc parts. I want smaller PCs.

Mini pcs are gaining popularity and becoming more powerful so I guess there's hope yet.

The specs to price ratio make no sense.

It's not a device worth buying to make use of for its intended purpose.

It'll be cool to sell one on eBay to a moron for double the price once the timing is right.

People will buy this regardless... and it may help pave the way to helix acceptance. And whatever pc hybrid machine Sony eventually brings to market. Prices be damned.
Here we go again with the SonyToo.

This sounds fucked up but I hope it bombs so hard they clearance out hardcore like the Steam Controller V1 for like 70% off

That price. Even when this is normal today, it's just so many money for average gaming. Wow!

I think this tech crisis is eliminating a whole console generation.
So I am glad that I grab a series x for 449 euros that day. And it will be a absolute beast for that price today.

Time to give gaming a lower priority in life and all is good.

Bad time to bring this product to market. That said, they'll still sell every unit they produce. Either to enthusiasts or to scalpers.

Hard pass for me, though.

The ever growing disaster that is PC gaming affordability. Just when GPU prices begin to stabilize, we get the memory crunch. It's been one thing after another as these companies continue to demand 30, 40, 50% margins. This is far bigger than gaming, and it's completely unsustainable.

I would appreciate it if I got it for free. That's paying 0 dollars and a card thanking me for being a fan. That's when I would endorse it. There's just so many options out there. So much time and information at your disposal. Even if you had $1000 USD, wouldn't you just look for a prebuilt? It's like paying $10 for a gallon of milk.
