In the article they're talking about the haptic feedback and speakers on the controller. The visual differences between base PS5 and Series X will most likely be virtually non-existent.
 
Didn't Sony often said "play best" even if not true ?

Also, remember RDR2 being advertised as "4K" on PS4 Pro ? Only the vertical resolution was 2160p, but the horizontal one was 1920, 50% of 4K...
While Xbox One X had real 3840*2160 resolution, true 4K, but Microsoft did not had advertisement rights I think.

Don't trust marketing, it's just to sell more.
 
Ah, the Playstation blog secret sauce....

So, it's pretty much just like GTAV - on all old-gen hardware.

To be fair, there will be improvements according to a decade of technical progression , so they'll likely remove some "fading" (like the in-game fly-in when switching characters) due to the simple fact that we have better hardware since GTAV. But those improvements will also be implemented on other platforms.

Rockstar has a history of tailoring RAGE to the appropriate platform.

Remember how with GTA 4 the graphical differences between PS3 and Xbox 360 were quite specific to the hardware? Like X360 using MSAA and PS3 using Quincunx instead. One having better textures because of Bluray, etc etc, like the differences came from the actual hardware.

It's gonna be the same with PS5 and XSX where RAGE will take advantage of all the PS5-specific unique computer chips, obvious because they mention Tempest 3D AudioTech in the blog post, and probably same with XSX where it will take advantage of that unique hardware too.

Therefore I expect each platform to have quite unique graphical differences, like rendering shadows with different tech based on the platform etc etc

When they say it plays best on PS5, I think it goes beyond just DualSense, because of how stark the differences were with the previous GTA games between platforms.

It's sort of a defacto exclusive at this point in time.

Microsoft clearly has not produced the amount of consoles it needs to take advantage of the uplift in demand for Series S/X (no this isn't due to the RAM crisis, MS's moves predates that by at least a year).

Well, right now PlayStation is posting GTA VI marketing content, while Xbox is posting news about Diablo.




That's where the real bloodbath is going to happen.

There's stock out there. Sony will see the lions share of software and console sales but Xbox is going to do well out of this too. Especially with series s out there and series x being cheaper than ps5 in the UK....

If it still is when the game launches.

I expect series X will sell out quickly here in the UK though due to the price difference.

Its gonna be a monster on all platforms. Ps5 pro is the no brainer if you have one or are interested and have the cash.

Loads with lower incomes will go for the series s version.

Extrapolating from console hardware of 20 years ago is a total misunderstanding of the current day consoles....
 
I think they are talking about the controller features, which most people don't seem to care about.

The pro will and should visually look the best with the extra horsepower. Guessing the base ps5 and series x will be very close with a slight edge to series X.

Yups looking at recently released spilts from uk(2nd biggest xbox market) u can tell games basically stopped selling on xbox consoles, not even 1 breaking 20/80 in favour of ps5, quite a few below 5/95, in few months things only gonna get worse.
MS might consider themselfs lucky if they even get to 20/80 split on gta6 worldwide, so 10m units xbox/40m units ps5, thats best case scenario, worst case could be something crazy like 10/90 or below that even :messenger_astonished:
Now imagine if xss version is half of that 10% in the splits so 5%, u can be sure rockstar wont put much care into it and just cut everyting across the board till game runs semi okish while looking ugly, xsx version shouldnt experierience that nasty fate at least.

Hew, that blue is a threat 😅
I always forgot how blue and bold the default dark theme is (I love blue but not in this mainly orange theme), I made a stylesheet to reset that to light grey and a script that colors thread titles when matching keywords so it's easier to see what it's about at a quick glance :

So yeah, "GTA" and "Rockstar" being in my "other games" color makes the forum mostly yellow for me today 😅

Blue : Sony/PS
Green : MS/Xbox
Red : Nintendo
Orange : PC
Yellow : other games (multi-support)
Light blue : other interesting subjects
Light blueish green : TV shows, movies, streaming platforms

And as Edge mobile supports Tampermonkey too, even on mobile I never see the default theme.
