One Piece remake by Studio WIT

I've never seen or tried the original series, so I guess this will be a good entry point?
Probably, yeah. The original series has severe pacing issues and bad animation until the recent arcs. The pacing can be remedied somewhat by watching the One Pace fan edit but this remake should be a much easier watch.

considering "season 1" of the show has like 1100 episodes and looks like it will keep going for years to come, it's probably a good idea to make a condensed version now.

So is this like a Dragon Ball Z Kai for One Piece, kinda?

Cool. I'll definitely check out the first few episodes and see if it sticks.

getting a remake of a show before the ending of a show, that's also still running... I've never seen that before lol.

Nice, will definitely be watching.
The current anime has such poor pacing and inconsistent animation that I dropped it a long time ago and I've just been following the manga.

Yeah, but with completely redone animation instead of just cutting and remastering the existing one like Kai.

I'll check it out.

One Piece is a masterpiece, even with the pace slowing down at times and some parts in the arcs draging way too long after a current event in the anime. The lore, characters, world building and how everything connects are absolutely amazing. Combined with cool powers and fights.

The japanese version, for those who can't stand dubbed(like me!)

Crazy to start a remake of something that is still on going.

Each episode should just cover one season of events.

I don't think it will be that fast paced, but my prediction will be that it will hopefully be close to the Live Action's pacing, which has kept a good, forward momentum in terms of getting through arcs.

Live Action's pacing is somewhat close to One Pace's pacing.

Nah the past few years have had good animation to straight up amazing pieces like garp's galaxy impact or things that weren't in the manga at all like the fight with zoro against s-hawk where the animator was told he was only allowed to dodge to keep consistency with the manga fight that happens later.

Now that the show is seasonal there will be much less filler as well.

Is it based on this show?

It's still worth watching for the charm. I love the OG. That theme tune is burned into my brain from the 90s, walking to school with it in my head.

Remake is fine but leave the original available too. I love to see the charm of original anime. Cell art style anime is getting harder and harder to find on streaming.

I don't know, Oda already said like a month ago that next arc takes place somewhere only Roger reached, that's either Lodestar or Laughtale. Now, Roger had to do a redo because he learned of the poneglyphs in Lodestar, but that's not the case with the Strawhats, so that means as far as islands go, and islands equal arcs, we've got two left and the final war.

I think people don't realize how close are we to the end of One Piece.
