one has to live with dead parents. train all the time but goes all out. the other has to live with pretty much the whole race of his people dead. and constantly live a life of stepping on eggshells suppressing his strength in fear of breaking the world around him. all things considered I would go with Bats.

I'll choose Batman.

He's rich, smart, lives in a pretty sweet mansion and can practically do whatever he wants.

Superman has less going for him outside of his powers.
His parents are alive at least and love him.

Only people that hate themselves would pick Batman but from what I can see we have plenty of those.

Batman because

I guess but Superman is really smart too, could be as rich as he wants, and has a fortress of solitude.

It's not like Superman has limited options here…

he can crush coal into diamonds. Probably has a scene in a comic somewhere using his x-ray vision to turn lead into gold. Or he could fly out and grab a mineral rich asteroid. Dude has options :P

Even setting aside the Godlike powers, Clark literally has everything the average guy dreams of. Parents who love him, a steady job, property in a city and a quiet life on a farm, and a woman who wholeheartedly loves him.

Lois alone is worth more than all of Bruce Wayne's assets.

I love Batman, and he's obviously "cooler" than Supes, but he's also a deeply unhappy and disturbed man. Which is part of the appeal, but I wouldn't necessarily want to BE him.

Why would you want to be a guy with a fetish for spandex and latex, hiding his true identity, desperately trying to show the world how good a human being he is for helping people old ladies and animals?

I'd rather be the Superman, because he at least has a living parent. (maybe not in the comics but all the movie versions, Martha = still alive?).
And if she's sick, I can either do my superman thing and save her, or take her to hospital ASAP or get some intergalactic magical cure for her.
And I love midwest - so I would feel pretty happy there chilling and farming - I wouldn't live in Gotham city.

Batman has a lot of money, but really - if you are a Superman, I don't think you need that much money to begin with. Also you have free home in the arctic area with cool techs. :)

But his powers makes him an immortal god, that makes everything Batman has minor.

Who cares about money in this context. Superman can be as rich as he wants if he wants to make money.

superman is far cooler than Batman. Batman is the goth kid in class no one likes. Superman is the popular friendly guy that treats everyone with respect.

I personally like Superman more than Batman, but I can't deny Batman is just more popular than him. It is what it is.

Ya but only in modern times. Supes was the first big super hero. He hasn't had as much good publicity as Bats though. The Dark Knight cartoon really put Batman over the top for a generation of kids.

Batman? Like I would ever let the cops call me up for help whenever they want. As Supes I would have Lex Luthor being an asshole to me for no reason, of course, but I would also have the best dog ever.

Isn't he aging much slower than humans? So he's going to watch them get older and die, and then he's alone, like Batman. But without money and cool gadgets. :p

When things are too easy to get, gets boring very easy

Superman basically doesn't even has to eat... I'm with Batman

You guys are getting on my nerves. You are choosing the man who uses kung-fun over a flying god because he has to "suppress his strength in fear of breaking the world".

There is NO logic comprehensive reason why anyone would choose Batman. He's more miserable, worse off, less powerful, and can only be Batman in a short timespan when he is young.

He's never going to be alone, he has plenty of friends, some of whom are either immortal or have an extended lifespan. But being with Lois is worth 10 lifetimes and 100% worth living. Just because you might live longer than humans, doesn't mean it's not worth pursuing love. Even in real life, tons of people experience losing their spouse and have to move on. My grandfather lived for 13 more years after my grandmother passed.

Also there's nothing to suggest Clark can't end up romantically with another person afterward. There's been stories where him and Diana become a couple after Lois passes. Ultimately he's gonna be fine.

Im pretty sure even Batman wants to be Superman. Heck there are even examples of this in media. In Batman Beyond, Bruce is an old man passing down the title to a teenage successor named Terry McGuiness. In one episode of the show Superman comes to the Batcave to recruit Terry into the Justice League. Superman is still strong and fit, and the only change that seemed to happen to him physically over the last 50 years is that he now has a streak of white hair, just a little salt and pepper. Bruce and Clark catch up and Bruce "jokes" "I wish I had some of your Kryptonian DNA", and Clark essentially says "It doesn't matter Bruce, You'll outlive us all. You're too stubborn to die".

I'm also pretty sure there is a comic out there where Batman and Superman switch powers through some kind of accidental magic shenanigans and Bruce becomes obsessed with ending all crime when he becomes Superman. He does nothing but devote himself to the cause of crime fighting literally every second of the day, since he doesn't need rest. I believe he actually has to be talked down when they find a way to reverse the spell because he wants to stay super powered.

I'm pretty sure the people who are choosing to be Batman are thinking about which character they find cooler, and not necessarily what would be a better life. They're thinking about the money, the fast cars, and the women they get to fuck, but not necessarily all the baggage that comes with it. This isn't personal interpretation, it is etched in stone that Bruce Wayne is a deeply disturbed, depressed, and sad individual, who gets in his own way of pursing a better life for himself. That's not a knock against the character. It's part of who he is and why he's a cool and endearing character. But having to actually BE Bruce Wayne would suck.

I don't think they want to be "Batman" so much as they want to be a Billionaire Playboy.

Living in a mansion is such a downside. Cant imagine wanting that.

Batman is a cooler character, but if 1000% rather be Superman.
The powers alone are already more appealing than anything about Batman's life.

Batman. I don't care about flying

I have a mansion and rich. Yeah I will stay on the ground thank you

It wouldn't really be herd to get rich as Superman if you waned to.
Openly wear Adidas and drink Nespresso for a month and you can buy several mansions.
