That guy got his job back and full pay for every day since he was fired. http://6abc.com/archive/9203288/
It says Ramsay was forced to accept him back.

Here's an article that says "About 90 percent of the cops that Commissioner Ramsey has fired have gotten back onto the force. Seventy-five percent of them returned with full benefits and back-pay." http://www.urbanromanceonline.com/power-trip-one-familys-traumatic-tale-of-police-brutality/

He was also in the news as a hero cop since:http://articles.philly.com/2014-07-28/news/52094459_1_josey-fire-department-two-adults

The FOP is doing this, not Ramsey. He follows legal rulings, but that doesn't mean he has to like them.

I hate the police department in philly. I got robbed and rearended in philly amd both times they refused to send someone out. You pretty much have to be dying to get any help.

Good lord. I can't believe that fucker got his job back. There's clear cut video of him using a fucking civilian as a heavy bag, for Christ's sake.

Fuck one step forward, two steps back, we're just sprinting backward until we fall off a cliff.

Danke for letting me know I was incorrect. I definitely recommend everyone read the first two articles; the second one in particular is very dense with information.

Correct. The FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) is disgusting when it comes to this stuff. They always use the "slippery slope" argument, that if they don't vigorously defend anyone who was fired the Department will be able to fire people without cause. Some people just have to go.

Chief Ramsey is a good guy when it comes to this stuff, as far as city police chiefs go. He is trying to change things.

The FOP is definitely up there in terms of shit unions we have. And we have some real shitty unions.

Oh, I wasn't trying to disparage Ramsey, I was just disputing the claim that if he fires a cop, they are done in Philly.

Not a slight against you, my friend. Scumbag cops get their jobs back here just like everywhere else.
