Would anyone repurchase Aladdin Return of Jafar if Disney used AI and revoiced Genie with Robin Williams? I heard that Disney tried using left over voice clips from all the leftover voice clips that weren't used in 1 and 3. Or maybe it could just be re-released on it's own with original foice and Robin Williams dub. I'd like to see it happen some time. Tom Hanks is using AI so he don't have to work to do his role in Toy Story 5 and still get paid. They could do that if they can get his families blessing to do it. So what you all say? I'd definately buy such a re-release.

Nope, the writing, art and animation of the Disney animated sequels was low tier. Not having Robin Williams voicing the genie was only one of the film's issues.

I watched both of the sequels as a kid, and for the third one they did get Robin Williams, but that didn't magically make it a good movie, it was still direct to video iirc, and it deserved to be direct to video lol

The most important legacy of Return of Jafar is the Aladdin section of Kingdom Hearts 2.

Tom Hanks was more practical. His brother Jim Hanks does the voices for all that other stuff instead, including Kingdom Hearts 3.

I think Lost Media has a article saying Dan Castelanetta recorded for aladdin 3, but his clips were never used since robin williams came back.

Not gonna lie I loved Aladdin as a kid and would watch the sequels all the time too.

I didn't even notice the sequel was poorer quality or the genie was different.

Weren't all the sequels like straight to to video crap? I seem to remember disney doing that. Releasing an animated movie in theaters with beautiful animation. Then releasing straight to video sequels with much lower budget animation (lower budget in general). I remember avoiding that shit and sticking with the original movies as it was too much of a drop in quality. I didn't mind spin offs like Timon and Pumbaa. I'm not sure how they are fairing with their 3d animated movies that got sequels.

No. Once someone has passed on, AI should never be used to imitate or recreate any visual or audio facsimile of them. It's insanely disrespectful to them as human beings and is a disgusting idea. The fact that it had been done and will continue to be done is something that I just don't have the right words to express my feelings on.

I'm not sure that's common knowledge. He also didn't want to be prominent in marketing, but he ended up front and centre on the posters. They gave him their word and did it anyway. So coming into the thread with it in mind makes it even worse of a concept. I'd imagine the Williams estate wouldn't okay it purely because of their previous pisstakery, even if he did return for other work.
