Avengers: Doomsday | Official Trailer

From Marvel website.

:-/ That was probably the worst trailer I could have imagined for it, everything looks cheap, confined bad looking sets (like was this whole film just done on a sound stage?), Thor being set as a lead, things just don't look high quality or epic like we've seen in other Avenger trailers. Something seems really off.

Don't agree, this looked really good.

The minimal use of Doom was great.

No explanation other than "terrible evil" coming is interesting.

How are they going to explain away doom being so powerful all of a sudden?

Watching the trailer I'm just taken aback by how many of the new ones I don't care about.

I enjoyed Thunderbolts, I'm looking forward to the return of the X-Men, but that's about it. (Of course Cap, Thor and Doom, but that goes without saying).

The threat of Thanos was built up over multiple films and was earned. Doom hasn't even been seen yet and Thor is crapping his chainmail. It all seems a bit hollow.

Still, at least it'll bring to an end all the fake AI trailers littering Twitter.

Do they even need to? Just have him effortlessly dunk Thor and probably ragdoll the entire X-men with no thought to how anyones powers actually work and voila...instant super bad guy.

Though if he spends 5 minutes demolishing Wakanda, another 4 minutes beating the snot out of the Marvels, 2 minutes crushing she-hulk into a trash can......I can maybe see the appeal :P

Yes, the visuals seem a bit sloppy. But at least it's bright and colorful, almost oversaturated.

The notion that Shang-Chi is fought to a stand still by....Gambit of all people, good grief.

And why to all these scrub Wakandans and 'not-N'avi' show up? They each got like 1-2 heavy hitters, the rest could be wiped out by a single light infantry squad, and I'm talking like a National Guard squad, not even some Rangers or Marines.

I forgot that american comics have 2945738582748246 different version of the same characters, silly me :lollipop_squinting:
Always assume there's some ridiculous uber powerful version of the popular charachters.

Hell, there's a version of fucking Joker that could beat infinity gauntlet Thanos.

If there is ONE THING to be hopeful for as the lit-RPG craze sweeps the globe, it's that observing power levels, skill sets, and item traits and then having to work them through a logical system for determining outcome might come to superheroes so we get some damned consistency. As it stands, who ever is the most mad/sad/most recently lost their puppy will win because these battles are almost entirely hinged on emotional stakes rather than tactics, strategy, planning, or risk taking.

Are Thor and Rogers going to address the fact that Dr Doom looks like Tony Stark or are they going to pretend that they're both not identical?

I'm dumb as fuck when to comes to comics. I know about the multiverse shenanigans and variants but i have a feeling they're gonna lazily gloss all that shit over and not give us a scene where Cap America hesitates to attack Doom cause he looks like his dead friend. Is this in the comics?

Someone enlighten me.

Sorry, but with the purported leaks, this trailer does nothing for me. I loved Infinity War and Endgame -- this just smells of desperation.

Maybe it'll be good -- but I doubt it. (And I'm tired of watching Florence Pugh sleepwalk through her role, dazzling us with the comedic stylings of Yelena Bulova. >YAWN<)

That was a really weak trailer. It doesn't exactly help that I'm not interested in most of the characters at all. And the X-Men look like bad cosplayers here.

Who says Robert Downey Jr. can't play other roles? I mean Hulk, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, etc. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I hope its good, but I guess writing script for this kind of movie is bit difficult.

So many just outright weird decisions made with the films post-End Game.

Dude that plays Kang got arrested so they just….completely killed the entire storyline instead of…just recasting?

It's weird how some characters they'll recast without a word said, but others they just outright refuse to recast. I still think Shuri being the new Black Panther was an atrocious choice instead of just recasting

That said, this is the first film from Marvel in a while that isn't Spiderman or Deadpool that I'm looking forward to.

Day 1, like every other nerd on Earth.

FUCK Disney and Warner Bros for bein retarded and releasing this and Dune 3 on the same fucking day. I want to see this in IMAX.

It's so funny to hear Thor talking about an unspeakably powerful force that's coming and then you see footage of fucking Yelena and the Black Panther chick and her Wakanda crew and Gambit fighting Shang Chi.

The fuck are they gonna do to Doom, lmao

I don't think there has ever been a story where Stark and Doom are clones/dimensional twinsies, but I'm hardly an expect on that stuff. I gotta think RDJ pulls off that mask within the first minute of his screen time, there is NO WAY he stays masked up and using a heavy accent for the entire film and then goes home with 80 mill, other than maybe a final scene reveal and then he's RDJ for all of the next movie.

We used to have a guy here, Manabyte, who was INSISTENT that RDJ was gonna play an entirely different and unrelated character to Stark, but this just seems insane to me, especially for that price. I don't think RDJ's ego would allow him to be completely submerged into a CG character (like Jared Leto did as Skeletor) and you don't drop 80 mill to hide the actor, for sure.

Hey, we got 30 Wakandans with spears and 40 Namorians with lances! We call it the hors d'oeuvres squadron because all they will do is give Doom a light snack!
