I'm voting no. I don't think it will work out for Nintendo.
if we're bumping old threads to make ppl look foolish. Where's that old Splatoon thread, that said it was going to be a BOMB

I am a failure!Even though I am OK with the price, they need to hit sub 250 for this to be big.
Just wait for the Switch to pass up the PS2.This thread is like GAF herpes. Enough time goes by, and GAF is feeling itself, then a flare up happens.
Or when the 3DS released and idiots thought it would fail relative to the Vita because "it doesn't have a right thumbstick!" Surprise, what makes a handheld successful isn't about trying to mimic the genres & playstyles that are popular on home consoles.Eh, could be worse. It could be like back in the day on NeoGaf in the mid 2000's when people thought the DS was going to flop and the PSP was going to be the successful one.
Of course they do, some people in GAF believes graphics are most important thing and thought Switch being "weak" system, it will fail. This does show GAF exists in a bubble.
FTFY. I have one Series X and two series S in my house. This does show GAF exists in a bubble. People made similar claims about the XSS failing as well. There is a major difference between enthusiasts and enthusiasts gamers. It's clear enthusiasts have no idea what casual gamers value at all.
LolI did not predict that Switch would flop. It's bullshit. It's not true. Oh hi Neogaf.

It could be an unexpected Wii-like smash hit, but I'd put money on it being effectively similar sales performance to Wii U.
I actually still have one of those. One of my favorites is the Vita TV announcement thread where everyone were claiming its a megaton and deem it a godsend
I play the Series S more. I love the little thing. People that dismiss it are missing out. Both Series S' have the 1 TB expansion card. Keep adding up those numbers!wow that's like owning one and two thirds of a Series X

I was right! Kind off...It's possible. The hardware is much more attractive and Zelda is a major Trojan horse.
They definitely need to sort their whole online plans and 3rd party support.
PS2 had one big advantage that makes it hard to beat: They produced it for 12 years and sold it for 13 years. If they stopped production with the release of the PS3 Switch would have already beaten it.Only needs 47M more to beat the PS2. Still about 2 years until the Switch 2 and then Nintendo will drop the Switch to $199 and the Switch Lite to $99 and it's over.

I think the new Switch will arrive late 2024 or early 2025, so a very good chance the Switch can still do it, unless of course it's earlier.Only needs 47M more to beat the PS2. As soon as I saw that first trailer where it was Zelda and Mario looking as good as they did and then the people in the advert docking it and it seamlessly transitioning to the TV - I knew that it was going to be wildly popular.Wow. Some of those replies on page one.
To be honest, I didn't think the Switch would be as successful as it has been, but I didn't think it'd be DOA either.

It fit nearly every childhood dream of a console that I’d had, including the merger of Nintendo’s dev teams.
I've almost forgotten it's a hybrid. Is the OLED model worth the extra cash?
I got the Oled for £244 which is a really good deal - it’s defo the best unit, great screen, battery life and smallest bezel. I’d have bought the Oled for full price.I think it's time I picked up a Switch. As a family, we used to play the shit out of Mario Kart Wii (and 8 on the Wii U), Wii sports, Mario 3D world etc. Probably the best times we've had as a family.
Plus there are a bunch of killer titles on the Switch and classic ports.

The OLED model is pretty awesome, and a massive bonus if you play in handheld mode, not so much if you play docked most of the time, although everything about the OLED model feels more premium, even the dock. I have the OLED with the white joycon, but must admit to being very tempted by the upcoming Splatoon 3 edition.I think it's time I picked up a Switch. I tend to forget about the bigger screen, until I pick up my daughters original model, then it hits home how much of a difference it makes.I got the Oled for £244 which is a really good deal - it’s defo the best unit, great screen, battery life and smallest bezel. This may be the last year that switch can sell 20 million or more units, but it will still beat PS2 if it sells around 18m, 10m, 5m and 3m in 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026.Only needs 47M more to beat the PS2. 2021 was a great year for Nintendo Switch but 2020 was the peak. I'm predicting 21.8 million for 2022.What happened in 2021! It's impressive.
