GAME UPDATES

The Pit

  • The chance to receive a Stygian Stone on completion of the Pit has been increased.
    • Examples:
      • Tier 1: 5%
      • Tier 40: 10%
      • Tier 100: 18%
      • Tier 200: 30%
  • We have made the following adjustments to bosses in The Pit.
    • Adjusted the damage of boss powers and boss affixes to be more in-line with the difficulty of the dungeon leading up to the fight.
    • Reduced the frequency of boss affixes so they don't overlap.
    • The Tomb Lord Bone Wall boss affix now starts appearing from Pit tier 1.
      • Slightly reduced ability cooldown.
    • The Blood Bishop triple Shadow Line boss affix now starts appearing from Pit Tier 31.
      • Moderately increased cooldown.
    • Reduced the Airidah Wind Vortex boss affix from 8 seconds down from 8 seconds.
  • The selection for Pit Tier will now default to last completed Tier instead of highest available Tier.

General

  • Tempering Manuals on the ground now have their tooltip name reduced to start with "Manual" to quickly distinguish what the item is.
  • Duplicate or obsolete Tempering Manuals, manuals the player has already unlocked or has a higher rarity version of, will no longer drop.
  • Completing the Capstone Dungeon will now grant a Nightmare Dungeon Sigil.

BUG FIXES

Accessibility

  • Fixed multiple issues where the Screen Reader did not function properly for certain parts of the Tempering and Masterworking menus.
  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not announce the description for the Pit Obelisk.
  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not announce the tooltip for Viewing possible affixes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not identify required World Tier values in crafting material tooltips.

User Experience and User Interface

  • Fixed an issue where linking certain Items in chat wouldn't display properly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Gauntlet score screen would display "You Have Ranked Up!" regardless of whether or not the player actually ranked up.
  • Fixed an issue where known Tempering Recipes of the same type were counting towards the total of all learned recipes, which could cause the total number of known recipes displayed to be more than the maximum.
  • Fixed an issue where the Reset Masterwork ranks window could not be closed with the Escape key.
  • Fixed an issue where the Greater Affix icon did not display in the trade window.
  • Fixed an issue where the number displayed for Thorns inherited by Minions was much higher than it actually was.
  • Fixed an issue where Withdraw-Only items from the Seasonal migration Stash could randomly appear directly into the player's Inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where icons for Greater Affixes and Masterworking did not appear when inspecting another player.
  • Fixed an issue where Controller navigation was inconsistent in the Stable menu.
  • Fixed an issue where additional monsters spawned during Boss encounters in The Pit would display as red dots on the minimap similar to monsters marked as objectives.
  • Fixed an issue where the effect denoting active Helltide in the map could malfunction if the player was in a dungeon when a new Helltide began.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where the player's character could become invisible and uncontrollable in rare circumstances while Bloodmarked and Mounted.
  • Fixed an issue where the Cursed Chest event in Domhainne Tunnels could fail to complete if the last enemy was killed right as the timer expired.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck in the death screen if they were killed with 0 revives left in a Nightmare Dungeon while in a party.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mastery objective for the Rupture Dungeon Event could not be achieved.
  • Fixed an issue where triggers of the Elemental Surge Tempering affix could unintentionally break Stealth.
  • Fixed an issue where spawn points for the Blood Maiden were sometimes further away than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t interact with the Pit Obelisk after Resetting Dungeons.
  • Fixed an issue where Rare spawn monsters could still drop crafting materials, such as crushed beast bones and grave dust.
  • Fixed an issue where the Druid’s Bloodhowl did not benefit from the Bold Chieftain's Aspect when combined with Nighthowler's Aspect.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual effect for Upheaval when used with the Hellhammer did not match the damage's area of effect.
  • Fixed an issue where the Spider Caller could not spawn in Sirocco Caverns, which would block progression.
  • Fixed an issue where certain affixes were scaling in unintended ways.
Developer’s Note: This change means the following affixes will now scale properly. For almost all of these, the issue applies only to the duration of the affix. Duration wasn't meant to scale, but it incorrectly scaled with upgrades through Masterworking. Any changes beyond that will be listed below.
    • Unique Affixes
      • Scoundrel's Kiss - +X% Attack Speed for 4 Seconds After Dodging an Attack.
      • Blood Artisan's Cuirass - +X% Damage for 4 Seconds After Picking up a Blood Orb.
      • Fists of Fate - Lucky Hit: Up to a 10% Chance to Gain X% Damage for 4 Seconds. (Both the Duration and Lucky Hit Chance are affected here).
      • The Grandfather - Ignores Durability Loss. This Affix can now no longer roll as a Greater Affix or be Upgraded via Masterworking.
    • Developer’s Note: For the Grandfather specifically, any existing Grandfathers that had a Greater Affix or Masterworking roll consumed by the Indestructible Affix will be re-rolled.
    • Legacy Affixes
      • +X% Damage for 4 Seconds After Killing an Elite.
      • +X% Damage for 4 Seconds After Dodging an Attack.
    • Non-Legacy Version (e.g. Esu's Heirloom, Natural Motion Tempering Affix) - +X% Movement Speed for 4 Seconds After Killing an Elite.
    • Lucky Hit: Up to a X% Chance to Make Enemies Vulnerable for 2 Seconds.
  • Fixed an issue where resetting Masterworking on an item would not function properly if the item had been reset and the player logged out soon after.
  • Fixed an issue where Grigoire couldn't drop Twin Strikes.
  • Fixed an issue where targeted Unique items dropped from bosses (e.g. Fleshrender from Lord Zir or Ebonpiercer from Grigoire) couldn't drop with Greater affixes.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where players lost Resplendent Sparks upon seasonal migration.

Developer’s Note: Players that lost Resplendent Sparks will have them restored when logging into an Eternal Character.

  • Fixed an issue where Barbarian could not craft Gurgling Heads at the Alchemist.
  • Fixed an issue where the rotating Fire beams during the Echo of Andariel fight could be invisible if VFX quality was set to low.
  • Various stability, visual, and performance fixes.

Can someone explain this build to me? Or is maxroll just letting any donkey shit up on its site at this point?

The skills make no sense. You do not have enough skill slots to be using everything it wants. No I’m not talking about fire bolt going into enchant slot, I’m talking about using :
Frozen orb
Flame shield
Ice armor
Teleport
Ice blades
Lightning spear
Unstable currents

That’s one too many for active slots. If you look at the photo of which slots are active then you see spear isn’t. However, without using spear during currents, you will never actually do anything with currents because it can’t proc.

Help me make sense of this.

If it’s as fucked as it seems then I need to just get rid of all points in currents and spear and just throw it into frost nova, get bonuses from freezing stuff, and have no ult. Plus redo the final passive skill selection too.

Rogue has builds like this with that swirling shadow shield that you slot but not in an active skill slot... one of the gear aspects frequently activates it without it being an active skill you hit manually. Maybe similar to build you posted?

????

How do you slot something but not activate it? I’m playing on controller so does keyboard somehow get more skill slots?

This is the active skill slots discussed. This makes no sense.

I'm using this build and you don't need to have all the skills slotted, only the ones at the top of the page, under the character, and place some in the two enchant slots :
NyNWWRt.png

Keyboard and controller have 6 slots, keyboard does not get more skill keys.

The aspect of the unique amulet "Fractured Winterglass" give a chance for Frozen Orb to spawn a random conjuration skill (even those you did not unlock).
Unlocking the Lightning Spear is needed to unlock its mods and benefit from it (increased critical strike chance and enemy stun), even if you don't slot the skill (the amulet can trigger these from the Frozen Orbs).

Ok now explain how to make the ultimate actually proc when you use it. It only works when you cast a shock skill. Therefore it will never cast a random skill for its effects, yes you gain 25% attack speed but you’re not attacking when you cast orbs are you? That would only effect a basic skill hence why arc lash is always used in conjunction with this ult.

So I assume the ultimate is wasted 2 skill points then? I could replace it to add frost nova or throw the 2 points into spear or ice blades or something.

The fractured winterglass ammy will summon conjurations (take a look at the tags) like ice blades, hydra, and the ultimate lightining spear, which benefit from the points allocated.

So then my question is - what purpose does having ult on the usable skills bar matter?

If the amulet will just summon it on its own, then even having that ability on the bar is meaningless. You wouldn’t need to ever cast it right?

ice blades is for mana regen
the ult will provide a big boost of damage when activated (it doesn't proc on its own, its not a conjuration)
thats why you keep those two

This wouldn't be a proper Blizzard event without bugs and delays kekw.

its very underwhelming. I am also afraid we won't get a midpatch balance update because they propably deem the season as a big success unlike the previous one. I am not a big fan of the basic skills meta and I tried all the classes now

Attack speed is crucial to cast Frozen Orb faster, the animation stops you when moving, its cast time gets reduced by attack speed, thus you can cast it more (if you have enough mana regen), thus freeze mobs faster.
Note that with the unique amulet it will also have a greater chance to spawn conjurations (which can spawn more frozen orbs on their own) as you cast more Frozen Orbs.

It's not wasted, it well thought.

From Copilot :
Attack speed plays a crucial role in how the Frozen Orb skill functions in Diablo 4. Let me break it down for you:
  1. Frozen Orb Skill:
    • Frozen Orb is your primary damage source. It’s an area-of-effect (AoE) attack that unleashes a stream of maxed-out Frozen Orbs to decimate foes from a distance.
    • When you use Frozen Orb, it applies the Vulnerable status to targets, making them susceptible to additional damage.
  2. Attack Speed Impact:
  3. Build Customization:
Remember, balancing attack speed with other stats like cooldown reduction and mana regeneration is crucial for an effective Frozen Orb build. Happy freezing! 🧊❄️

I’m a level 57 wizard playing through the campaign on veteran. This game is really easy so far. Between the damage stacking and regen equipment, I dont even need health potions. I may have used 5 or 6 health potions my entire run.

I can basically cast fire wall, fire shield, hydra, and incinerate and kill anything almost instantly. Fire shield, in particular, seems to just destroy enemies.

I normally have fire hitting the enemy from 4 or 5 different sources, and the damage stacks with a bonus for each one. I also stand inside my fire wall which increases damage 25%. Plus, equipment and damage over time bonuses.

I’m interested in seeing the harder levels once I beat the campaign.

You should be on WT3 at lvl 57 to be honest

It won’t let me switch campaign tiers until I beat the game. I have tried any of the “skip campaign” stuff yet. I would still be called at tier 2, right? Until I beat the campaign?

You can skip campaign at the character select screen, but you might have to have already beaten it once to see that option.

Got to level 100 hardcore sorc with frozen orb build. No issues.

Forgot to not hit 100 on PC so I could pop the trophy on my ps5. Seems the game doesn’t recognize any of my level 100 characters to ding the trophy.

Installed this game on the 14" Alienware laptop I have with a 3060 gfx card in it... I NEVER game on pc but I've been going to in-laws to borrow their internet all week while mine is down. Connected xbox controller to laptop and left all game settings at default. I know it's not a demanding game but was pleasantly surprised to see it run with zero issues. Will prob play it on this laptop more when kiddos have tv etc. Not bad not bad.

No reason to pre order now. Ultimate edition seems worth the $ though here in USD.

3000 coins is $30. A free battle pass is $10. Expansion itself is what $50? Plus all the cosmetics.
