Do you think this trend will end? No
Is it even possible to release something like BF2042 in a solid and polished state day one in 2021? Yes
Is there something we can do, as not buying doesn't seems to work? Yes, large enough quantity of people not buy the product at launch. But it'd have to be insanely significant, like unheard of numbers.
The issue is its not as simple as DICE fucking up in the case of BF2042 or CDPR in the case of CP2077. It's people well above them, it's forced deadlines, changes, features, that people well above them who have no fucking clue what's actually good for the game imposing their will and throwing these projects off course.
That doesn't remove the blame 100% off the developers but people love to send terrible messages to the artist or level designers who probably had shit all to do with why these big AAA games launch in such a terrible state. When really it's probably mostly the people in suits who are looking for a fat check before the holidays or before a certain fiscal quarter ends and give less than two shits about the product itself or the work the people will have to do to get it to an acceptable state post launch.
