Anyone wanna take a guess about the starting time frame for this game's development ?

My question is, if XI is published for PS4 in the west by Sony, does that mean 3DS owners get fucked over? Same way vice versa. If Nintendo publishes the 3DS version in the west, do Playstation users get fucked?
I hope not, but I don't know of any other cases like this...

Maybe we just have different playing styles and expectations. I find the process of enjoying entertainment on my console sufficiently onerous that when I commit I expect to be there for some time; 60-90 mins at least. That's because I need to find my TV remote, switch inputs, find the controller, wait for the system to start, wait some more for for the game to load then I need to fire up my save. No way I'm going through all that just to grind a few levels. Not when I can flip open my 3DS and start playing straight away, for any period of time including just a few minutes. Not to mention I can do this anywhere, not only on my couch.
My consoles only get used for local co-op play and for the occasional bit of Zelda or Bayonetta etc. All of which is to say that I like my Dragon Quest right where it is and has been for a decade: on portable machines.
lol you turn on the TV and Suspend/Resume has you playing in a matter of seconds. Talk about one of the funny over-dramatic explanations I have read in some time -_-Maybe we just have different playing styles and expectations. and it looks traditionally turn basedsaw the scans... yep there's battle screenshot for ps4 version
Going by the scan, it appears that the PS4 version has battles similar to DQ10. Very cool and also kinda expected.

So it's basically similar to a FFXII battle system but more turn based? Interesting. For those unfamiliar with DQ10's battles, here's an example.

Interesting. That's all AI right for hired party members right? Wonder if that'll be the same for this then.

Actually looking at the scans it seems the PS4 and the 3D 3DS versions have the same battle system? We have gameplay of the latter, right?
Thanks, Aeana <3For those unfamiliar with DQ10's battles, here's an example.

You don't have 10 seconds? Can he tell me which country he is running, or what worldwide bank is taking over so much of his time? Some people have more time than others. Not hard to figure out. If you don't have a lot of time even trivial things are a bother.

The camera angles and the menus match, I guess? I'm just speculating here.Where are you getting that from?

Where are these scans?

They might let you switch between members at will but use AI otherwise like FF12. Would be interesting.
Personally sincerely hoping not, want full on proper DQ battles with party control. Otherwise that might take the PS4 version from a secondary pickup to something I may not bother with, since I really, really didn't like XII...They might let you switch between members at will but use AI otherwise like FF12. Watch Zelda U switching to UE4 and release on NX only.
Yea I could see that, maybe turn off any AI so they just hold their turn, it'd be slower but helps you be more tactical whereas AI would make it faster.

On-topic, will the DQX PS4/NX ports come out at the same time as their respective versions of DQXI?
- Nintendo has already went on record saying that Zelda U is still Wii U-bound.
- Nintendo usually sticks with their own engines, & they have no reason to switch.
apparently some blogs mentioned that for 3ds ones, you need to pick either 2d or 3d after the early game part... hmmm (can someone with better jp skills check it)
urgh... disapointing.. really ?
