There was not enough loot box potential. You can understand them. gg
I'm half expecting it to be Destiny/GR:W situation where it sells incredibly well in spite of a large section of GAF writing it off.
Or it wasn't coming together. Don't think people realize just how late in the process MTs get added to a game.
I doubt that will be their direction. A multiplayer focus is more likelyI always thought that game was canned long ago. Well, I'm now excited for the game. Seems they want to go open world and if they give us something like KotoR then I'll be a happy camper.
So? You got underperforming online-focused games as well - like For Honor iirc.
Probably something along the lines of Shadow of Mordor with a primary online focus. So EA already has a Destiny competitor in the works from Bioware. It's unlikely they would want two.
Maybe they are going all in on Open World with Lootboxes, PVP and Virtual Currency since "Linear" was specifically mentioned as an issue.
That game had a peak CC users at 1.3 mil and even in spite of being a drop from the last's debut sales, was the biggest launch at retail this year last I checked. Activision is laughing all the way to the bank at the idea that Destiny 2 had "mediocre" sales.Destiny 2 mediocre sales tell a lot about how large that "section of GAF" really is.
Which is why I think it's likely that the game may not have been coming together as well as expected. Literally the only footage ever released was this:Perhaps you're right. However I still maintain EA's increasing fixation on loot boxes as they seem to be included prominently in all their games now made the decision to ax the project easier for them rather than trying to save it. It's a StarWars game was it's commercial success ever going to be a concern?
Werent Motive supporting the now canceled SW game? I dont think they are developing their own SW game.
Ugh, RIP Visceral.
And RIP single-player games in the near future.
I wouldn't either after McGee exposed himself as a GG sympathizer.RIP Dead Space and Dante's Inferno. And EA probably won't greenlight American McGee's Alice 3 pitch either.
Fucking EA.
Meh DICE is their most important dev so theyre alive and well
Keep chasing that GaaS dragon, suits. I'll just stick to Dota.

EA just like activision, sets studio to only towards that makes a profit nothing more unique or cool new IP's for taking a risk.
.
If the reason for the cancellation was due to it being linear then I'm never playing an EA title ever again. Can't believe what is happening to this industry.
Loot boxes, loot boxes for everyone!
And microtransactions!
For comedic effect, I've added the Emperor's Theme from Star Wars to his talk... it seems appropriate, as EA Bioware is developing the new Star Wars MMORPG (hopefully microtransaction free!)
Bye bye dead Space.
At least we got two good games out of them.

Amy Henning please come back to ND! This affects bish too, right?
Meh, when EA shows the next battlefield and Star Wars games everything will be forgotten and you guys will gobble up like nothing. Too bad for visceral :/
As if linear games are bad? They just have to be done well.
The Last of Us was very linear, still a 10/10 in most peoples' books.

I do believe Dota is considered Gaas model. So Irony?
Noo, let her return to Eidos, we need a new legacy of kain far more than an Uncharted.Amy Henning please come back to ND! This affects bish too, right?
Double fuck you EA.
I don't care for Battlefield, never have. I was very excited for Amy's game. What about people like me?
