PS5 stock holding up well so far, this current week also seems pretty good stock Wise.

Xbox Series vs PlayStation 4 amazing fight continued.

PS5 might outsell Switch some weeks this year.

No need to worry about a huge gaming backlog if you own a next gen console in japan the shops that sell PlayStation games must be down to one end shelf of store presence at this rate. I’d be pissed if I spent all that money and there’s barely anything been released.

That's the problem. When you buy a PlayStation 5 if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra you don't really need to buy games for a Long time, also tons of F2P.

Jim really meant it when he said PS5 stock issues were basically over in Japan.

Series consoles fighting with 10 year old ps4 leftovers is…something.

The way things are going PS5 sales will eventually overtake Switch sales before years end. Nintendo can't beat market saturation without a major price drop.

Also I'll never understand why people think sales in January = sales In July. Just because you're selling 100k a week one month doesn't mean you'll be selling 100k 6 months later, esp if there's a CLEAR decline in YOY sales.

Nintendo wants to sell 20 million Switches in 2023, but that's not going to happen. 75,000 per week x 52 weeks is only 3.9 million units.

These sales are Japan only, 3.9 million this year in Japan would be above expectations. Nintendo hasn't officially made any Switch sales forecasts beyond the current fiscal year and when they do i think it would be around 16 million. Switch is in the twilight of it's life so the 20 million per year sales are not happening in 2023. We don't even know if Switch hit 20 million in 2022 untill early February when Nintendo release their earnings report.

For PS5 even more important than the hardware is seeing more of the software chart. Although I suspect PS5 software sales lean heavy digital in Japan, it might be less pronounces in terms of digital than other territories. But hey, the supply is definitely looking to have stabilized and is strong now so that's great.

Xbox is basically looking like a non-starter in Japan again. I don't know if it's very supply-constrained or not but considering supply has been low there for a few months now, MS could have increased supply to the market if the demand justified it.

XBS stands for XBox Series, so yes, it includes X + S.
  • Series S = 785
  • Series X = 267
Almost beat PS4 (1,099) this week.

You know it's bad when they can't beat an almost decade-old console that's been shifted to legacy support 😯

I'm on ps5 I've completed a shit load of ps4/ps5 games. I currently have a 15 game backlog even after completing 5 games in the last month.

The only physical games I've bought this gen are a few second hand disc's from CEX. Don't worry about us PlayStation players we have too much to play.
