Final Fantasy 14 Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch 2
It has been announced that Final Fantasy 14 is heading to Nintendo platforms for the first time, coming to Switch 2 in August.
Announced at the end of the Final Fantasy 14 NA FanFest, it was revealed that Final Fantasy 14 will be coming to Switch 2 at some point this August, with an early access period of month set to take place. This is apparently in order to make sure the game's servers don't buckle, and that once early access is over, it will launch on the game properly.
Unfortunately, because Nintendo is involved, it's not all good news. It was revealed at the time by a very apologetic Yoshi-P that you will need a separate subscription to play on Nintendo Switch 2, and any current subscription fee you pay will not transfer over to the system. For example, if you play on a PC and want to play on Nintendo Switch as well, you'll need two separate subscriptions.
"We plan to have an early access period, to test server stability, then launch into official service," Square Enix said. "Adventurers from more platforms than ever before can join together to enjoy this vast world."Fortunately, you won't require a NIntendo Switch Online subscription service to actually play the game, and you will get 50 percent off of your subscription if you have a subscription on a different platform, but it's not exactly great news if you wanted to play on the go.
