The amount of traffic pissed away by bots infuriates me at times.

One of our client sites (which is a small business that isn't that old and well known) was basically getting smoked every night by them. We ended up just blocking India period and that caught 80% of it. The bots were targeting a particular Wordpress plugin that was difficult to cache due to it being search-result based. I worked out that the bot formatted its url parameters in a slightly unusual order so put a security challenge on that pattern and that caught a lot of the remaining shit.

Cloudflare periodically sends me amusing emails about how alarmingly high a percentage of traffic is being blocked.

I suspect the bot farms are masses of cheap android phones, so mobile traffic being more suspect to Cloudflare makes sense.

I found a fix for that

Just put your phone on airplane mode for a few seconds then switch back to wifi. Reloading it again should take you to the site

Yeah, they are. In the US, specifically, they can be prosecuted under the definition of: Knowingly causing the transmission of a program, information, code, or command, and as a result of such conduct, intentionally causes damage without authorization to a protected computer.

"Damage" can be defined as "Any impairment to the integrity or availability of data, a program, a system, or information."

Mods feel free to lock this thread if the issue has been brought up or if is somehow self inflicted but as of about a week now I keep getting this image when on WiFi, or data, on my iPhone.

Not sure how to fix? It randomly will load the site sometimes other times not. I haven't done anything differently with my phone or connections, and it only happens on this site.

Anyone else getting this?

I've not had that problem. Not on mobile though. Maybe try a different browser.

It's super slow, not to load but when I type or erase or mark words to correct etc, the letters and marker are coming out much slower than I tap, essentially lag, and the phone mess up auto correct and it's just not a good experience. Feels like I have an ancient phone but it's the latest thing. It's the only place on internet that is like this, has to be on the server side, it does something extra nobody else does. Can't be DDos all day every day.

I have no problem with the internet speed. And GAF is the only place where it is like this. It's like it does a server ping for every letter, maybe saves the post after each letter or something and not waiting for me to tap post?

This sounds like a local issue. Clear cache. Try a different browser, a different device, etc.

I use Safari. But DuckDuckGo seems faster at first glance, will try more and verify.

It does that exact thing to me sometimes on mobile. Restarting the browser usually fixes it.
