I thought it was Mario Land 2 for a while, thinking the edge of the sprite was those Mario rabbit ears, but Mario Land 2's clouds were big ones like seen in Super Mario World. So the clouds lead me to it being Mario Land 3.

Feel pretty good there as I usually don't get the answer so quick if it's not obvious right away and this one had my brain fighting over two possibilities.

I hadn't played this since that post above in 2024. At one point, I had 180 games in a row with no fails, never using Google (except for tip-of-the-tongue help one time, and I did use my Steam library for reference, but not the store).

I'm playing from the end backwards, and--holy crap, they're picking some obscure shit nowadays. Think I've failed a quarter of them.

Modern JRPGs and Switch cozy games are my weak points.
