Here is the director shortlist for Bond 25.

Should really get Neil Breen to direct. Double Down is the best James Bond movie that doesn't have Bond in it.

Waste of talent. Breen needs to write, direct, and lead, or what's the point? Give Breen a hundred thousand dollars, and 13 episodes on Netflix. Make it an anthology series. Money will be made. Laptops will be broken. Hearts will be stolen.

Villenueve has released five films since 2010, four of which have gathered critical acclaim (Enemy being the exception). His sixth film is this year with Blade Runner. Arrival last year got an an Oscar nomination for BP. Nolan has released seven films since 2005 (Batman Begins), including Dunkirk. Villenueve isn't just some flavor of the month or year and has a pretty established library at this point.
I guess I`ve missed the boat?! To me, Nolan became big after Batman Begins happened despite having a few critically acclaimed movies previously. Didn`t know about Vellu until Prisoners happened. However if he blew as some big name director before that, I`m just my view as if it was the general public perception, which means I`m completely wrong.

Fucking Purvis and Wade.. well, as long as they get a good writer to basically start a new script from scratch after they’re done like with Casino Royale then it’ll be fine.

They'd better not be planning to reboot again any time soon. One was more than enough, even if the movie itself was good. Tie up Craig's stories, then go back to standalones with a guy who looks sort-of-but-not-especially like him. You know, like back in t'day.

Villeneuve would be a neat pick, but I think I'd prefer him to do something else instead.

He's seemingly on a quest to make a movie in every major franchise, so why not

A Bond movie with the atmosphere and tension of Sicario and Prisoners would be something special

Small update on this: Craig is reportedly pushing Villenueve for the job

Hoping that works out but I'm skeptical if only because Dune seems like a passion project for Villenueve and I'm not sure he would put that aside to direct Bond.

Wow. I thought for sure that Villeneuve would never be a realistic option here, but if Craig is trying to push for him to do the film, maybe it does have a chance of actually happening.

Damn, everyone wants a piece of Denis Villeneuve now but shouldn't he be busy with Dune?

As prolific as Denis is, I can’t see him doing both Bond and Dune. He’s gonna have a ton of other chances to direct Bond if he wants to.

"After the egregious length of time between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, the Bond films will start coming out much quicker", they said.
