I'm deep in love with Road not taken.

I'm 'still' on year 8, but I'm finally about to crack it (I refuse to go on next level without having saved every child, even if you could).
So far the difficulty curve was perfect, and I really like this multi room puzzle approach.

It's really a mix between my favorite roguelike (Nightmare Cooperative), a match 3 game, a pure adventure, a bit of Zelda, a bit of Year Walk.
And yet it's utterly original.
There is even a super light meta game/RPG in the town, where your 'choices/gifts' modify your stance with the people and give you items and perks for next years (quest/puzzle).
They can be very varied, and gameplay changes accordingly.
It plays great on both iPhone and iPad, but I'm playing on iPhone to have it always with me.
Technically it's adorable, a real labor of love with countless animations depending on time and situation.
It's super light on battery too, and super fast to load.

Don't be discouraged...the game throws a lot to you initially, but it's easier that it first seems (easier to understand...some puzzles are brutal).
I really like you have a ton of ways to solve the rooms, and this creates many emergent situations...usually every succeful year is quite an experience with many things to remember.
The hand crafted rooms are especially great....and many will give you shivers (despite the look, it's not really a cute game..the theme is pretty dark actually).

And above all this there is (*I Think*) a story that waits to be discovered...mini cutscenes and all.

I really didn't know what to expect, bought it just for the look of the trailer, and I'm really amazed.

Some longer Severed impressions I posted in the OT
Picked this up on iPad, and it's so freaking good. Kind of funny how I had dismissed this at first, probably because I'm so used to mobile games and really tired of Fruit Ninja/Infinity Blade-style gameplay

But holy shit, this is fantastic. The eldritch nightmarish world of grotesque creatures and fleshy flora (fever dream is the perfect description). The memorable juxtaposition of vibrant colorful palette and dark haunting moments (
finding your brother's corpse, having to eat a heart to upgrade your health, etc.
). The dungeon-crawler-style world and exploration, with its mix of light puzzles and RPG elements

And of course, the aspect that had intitially turned me off when I first saw gameplay, aka the (awesome) combat. It's so satisfying, from the tense enemy management to the precision needed to take down each enemy. Slicing limbs off never gets old.

I'm currently on the second boss.

Super glad Severed is being introduced to a whole new audience with their iOS release. I very much enjoyed it on my Vita back when it was out for that. Although it is a hell of a finger murderer after long play sessions.

Just now hopping aboard the iOS gaming train after picking up an iPad Pro. What is the best price tracker app? I remember using something called AppShopper a few years ago for iPhone games but I couldn't find it on the App Store.

Welcome to the thread. Actually the August thread will be going up later today, hope you find cool stuff that interests you. Any genres or kinds of games in particular you're looking for?

I mainly use the Toucharcade forums and Appshopper. Odd that you didn't see it on the App Store, was the first result when I searched

There's AppShopper Social. AppShopper used to be my choice but haven't been for years. You should use AppZapper instead today.

Did you select iPhone apps in the search? It is an iPhone only app so it wont show up on iPad unless you search and select iPhone apps.
