Even though the 40th anniversary is happening we don't have an actual rescan of the film reels of the original episodes, instead Toei and Funimation seem to keep forcing upscale/AI on people instead (something which fan groups like Seed of Might DB40th are doing better).
However, what would a proper rescan and 4k mastering look like? Kineko Video has been working the past two years tracking down the 16mm reels of as much Dragon Ball material they can get their hands to put together a demo sample of their work.
