Left 4 Dead 2 RTX: Complete Remake For All 14 Chapters

Im working on my l4d2 rtx mod for the past 2 month and here whats done:

1. Manually placed all the lighting identical to vanilla game across all 65 maps
2. Made pbr mats for over 405 textures with pbr fusion 4 (still have a lot of left to do)
3. Tweaked fog, added animated water and more than 100 emissive maps
4. Replaced all l4d2 weapons with weapons from mw, I might remove it at the release to not face any problems

ToDo list:
1. PBRify the rest of the textures
2. Remake bunch of models across all maps
3. Make the rest of emissive texture maps
3. Fix bugs, if any more present
4. Stability improvements

So basically whole game is finally playable now, I only showed 5 chapters in this vid, but maybe will show others in next vid too

I also want to add that this mod will be included in official Left 4 Dead 2 RTX Steam release

There are spots it looks excellent, like on the bridge at the end of the first section of the video, and times it looks pretty bad, like the factory halfway through. Don't have time to do more than glance through it, but I think I like it.

I wish they'd be re-release left for dead 1 & 2 on current consoles
It's backwards compatible on Series X|S but it's a complete shame there isn't a more modern way to play with cross play on consoles. I don't think PlayStation ever even got this series which is insane to think about.

It's kinda crazy how consistently popular these games have remained

Valve doesn't do home console stuff anymore, only thing they did was that switch port of Portal when they were working on optimizing it for Steam deck. Every other of their games has been PC exclusive, hell even CSGO was multiplat until Valve abandoned the console versions and went PC only. Dota 2 came.out in 2013 and that was their first PC exclusive, every game after that has been exclusive.

Dota 2, The Lab, Artifact, Dota Underlords, Half Life Alyx, Counterstrike 2, Deadlock, all exclusive.

As cool as these things are, at this point I have no interest in Work in Progress mods.
In fact I actively can't stand the unfinished ones.

"Look at me, awesome mod!"
4 years later, never finished.
I only care about finished mods at this point.
Otherwise to me it's just a tech demo that someone is messing with to buff up their resume.
Props to the devs who pull these things off, but it always ends up 3 weeks of work and you have a 90% complete version of it, but years later still incomplete.
Just irritating.
