Ok just started playing this. Holy fuck OP was not wrong, this game is legit. Butter smooth framerate, controls are very familier if you have played God of War and the over the top nature of the game just adds to the awesome.

Has anyone finished the game?

I'm stuck at the following point: "where gods rest"
6 out of 8 weapons/spells in.

ice / snow region, around 7 buttons puzzle, and two grappling points

Not sure how to proceed. Any advice?

IIRC, you had to jump on all 7 buttons within a set time, that's what the grappling hooks are for. Dunno which one I started with but whichever one you strat from, just quickly circle around and you should be able to proceed.

Managed to do it. had to start at the south east one and then simply go clockwise.

Now I've got a different issue, seems like a bug.

In the middle of combat I'm getting an "incoming challenge mission", then when I climb the vines the camer starts spazzing out. If I fail I land in the middle of combat again.

Fixed this by reloading an auto save.

Will probably finish the game tomorrow. Currently at 5 hours according to steam.

Incredible value for 99 cents.

I've played the demo on 360 and found it to be dumb fun.

There's actually a few "B movie" style games similar to this that are on both PC and the 360 like Deadfall Adventures and Ninja Blade.

Oh man, this game. THIS GAME.
Just played it for a couple of hours (at 123 Hz/FPS no less). Plays really well, provides non-stop action and true heroics, and crucially realizes perfectly well just how silly these games are.

Now, if only there was a conveniently placed gun for me to take out these choppers with.

Any of you programming savvy people out there have any idea what this error is about?

I've re-installed to a different hard drive, and run the game as administer but I've had no success.

I'm about two hours in.

HOLY.FUCK this game is awesome. Is it better than God of War, no. But it's much better than Dante's Inferno. And I'm being serious when I say that.

Just the Whip, i feel like a Black Kratos/Gabriel Belmont. I almost got a 300 hit combo with it. If i didn't level it up to the max i would of got more.

Glad to see a lot of people are enjoying the game, and also surprisingly bewildered by the tech issues others are going through o_O
I never would've thought a simple game as this would be causing such issues for people.

Anyways, the game currently has the highest player count since its release

I just completed the game. I had no issues until I defeated the boss, then it stuttered and froze during the final cutscene and bounced me back to the main menu. I killed him a second time and all was well. The minigame during the credits was overall the most frustrating part of the whole experience for me. The last two challenges were my favorite part of the game.

Overall, a very solid and satisfying experience. I'll be gifting it to several friends before the sale is over.

This game has been earmarked for the end of June. I'll buy quite a few copies, too. This seems like a much better gift than the ol' Bad Rats.

Wait wtf, Microsoft owns the trademark for this game? Wouldn't have guess that, lol.

But ya, picked it up for $0.99, kind of hard for me to not pick a game up at that price. Enjoying it so far, but not super far in.

The 80/20 rule is in full effect with Marlow Briggs. Can I get 80% of what a God of War game delivers for 20% (less, really) of the price? The answer is an enthusiastic yes, making God of War redundant in a world where Marlow Briggs exists.

It is a very surprising game. I reviewed it some time ago and actually loved every bit of it.

Of course, it is VERY derivative and something it strictly clones elements of other games. On the other side, the direction of certain scenes is very good, with a nice use of "3d stills", the battle system is solid, the humor is nice too and there is a bunch of secrets to find in every level.

It is the best doppleganger around.

This game is so good. I need a sequel. This is like the deadly premonition of action games in it's level of absurdity.

I got to the part early on where you get the ranged power and are shooting bugs at the jungle entry.

I shoot some bugs then suddenly I'm in a crazy cutscene where Marlow is jumping onto a giant (like as big as a battleship giant) jungle-crushing tank and bullet-time killing all sorts of guys, after which I am on the tank.

Did something go wrong or does it just make that jarring story transition?

I beat this game in one sitting yesterday. Totally worth the $1.

Pretty good game! Hilarious dialog throughout and the over-the-top plot is great.

Don't question this masterpiece.

So I'm a couple of hours in and enjoying it, it's simplistic but just plain entertaining. For $1 I will happily see this through to the end.

I just love how the game just does not give a fuck. One minute you're in an animated cutscene, next thing everything pauses because of obvious budget constraints and you get a "moving tablau". Next thing you're shooting down two dozen helicopters because why the fuck not, and your mask guy is giving you shit because you screwed up a jump. There's even an achievement for getting your first achievement.

Has anyone tried "playing" the credits? It's its own minigame!

Glad to see so many people enjoying this little gem by ZootFly. Sadly, they were bought out shorty before/after release of this game by a Slovenian company that makes gambling machines (roulettes). In an interview from last year they said they'll start making "holographic games" for the Casino industry, but will also return to their traditional gaming side once that is done. So far no news about upcoming projects were released. SInce this is a new IP, I don't know who owns the rights (505 or ZootFly).

That's an interesting bit of info. I wouldn't mind a sequel where
he and Eva try to return to the present time and must go through spanish invaders and crazed tribes, only to land in a future where their actions altered history

This is actually pretty fun! It's nice to see the genre played as over-the-top as it really is, rather than super grim-dark like God of War or Dante's Inferno.

I also kind of love Marlow Briggs and want to photoshop him as the lead character in everything. I kind of want Marlow Brigs to become a meme like that.

So... I'm actually enjoying this quite a lot!

Don't get me wrong, the game is very mediocre, but I played X-Men Origins: Wolverine about a year ago. It got scores in the 6s and 7s and this is easily as good as that game. It also gets a lot more fun when you unlock Kratos' blades ;)

Watched the trailer and stopped after I heard the phrase "Fighting him will only make him stronger."

Sooo cheesy.

Bought!

Finished this game in one and a bit sittings (got right to the end and needed to sleep). Had a blast playing it. Was it the best game in the world, no, not by far. Did it do new things things that change the game, gosh no, Oscar worthy story? :p, haha nope. But damn I think I just got the best value out of $1 I have ever got in a video game. Chu chu is good times :D

Bumping this, Marlow Briggs is 99 cents again through the Steam holiday sale.

Seriously, pick this gem up if you haven't.
