-They tested an oval track with GT3 cars.

-They said the sound is not much different from GT6.

.

Not sure yet which of both ideas is more stupid...

Oh, I know, GT6 sounds in GTS. If this is true, that's it for me. I bought every single GT game so far, incl. all prologues and the PSP one, but if this is true and they don't get their fucking shit together when it comes to engine sounds, I am outta here.

If the audio isn't dramatically improved then I'll be skipping GT Sport and maybe focusing on Assetto Corsa instead. The thing is, I really love the GT games, particularly the way they focus on having great controller controls, and the car porn aspect (I enjoy watching the race replays nearly as much as the racing itself, and the shithouse replays in Project Cars actually ending up really bothering me), but the audio is a deal breaker.

Maybe I'll return to the GT series when cars have all gone electric :)

Hopefully those initial impressions were just wide of the mark. The thing is, as solidsnakex has mentioned quite a few times, they're supposedly aware of just how laughable their audio is. If the kiosk setup isn't showcasing great engine audio, it can only be because there's no great engine audio to showcase...

Sounds good! oh wait...

Hopefully we will hear some engines in the trailer, I just don't understand that they have high standards for visuals and physics but don't give a damn about sounds...

The GT trailers always have great engine audio, it's just the GT games that don't. The trailer will tell us nothing about the actual engine audio, it's the game kiosks where we'll get our answer.

PD have always used actual car sound recordings on their trailers in the past so wouldn't put much trust on them to gauge the in-game engine sounds

I don't have any trust on some dudes giving impressions.

Anyway, if the engine sounds are still shit I'll be skipping this. 6 GT's is enough if they can't get the sounds right.

I'd even be willing to accept older cars still having the retarded audio, if all of the new ones sounded absolutely amazing.

Shit audio is totally expected (Kaz gotta Kaz) but testing GT3s on a fucking OVAL to showcase your game speaks absolute volumes about the moon buggy levels of numbskullery that flows through PD's decision making.

Why was I expecting anything different? It's in their DNA.

Bet photomode is fucking tip-top, though...

Oh right, just checked few trailers...Then it will be a mystery till the release

Nah, thankfully they have the game set up and playable, so we just need to hear feedback from the people actually playing it.

One person has already offered feedback and said the audio sounds pretty much the same as GT6. Once we get a few more responses we'll know for sure.

Calm down. The inside scoop is that the audio blows away pretty much everything that came before!

Just feast your eyes on their new, state-of-the-art soundproof studio.

Yeah, and the tyre squeal audio is still king. This is GT6 with a new lick of paint for PS4.

Just give me TT2 and shut Polyphony down.

Fucking hell... What have they been doing all this time?

I grew up playing the ps1 and ps2 GT games. How did they lose their way so badly...

Not long now....I've never been bothered by GT's sound, some cars were better than others of course ...but let's just wait and see what other previews dig up...

Nah, no car gets a pass.
It's fucking 2016. I ran out of passes a decade ago. This shit is nuts, but I'ma hold judgement until I hear the game myself. Not holding my breadth though....

'Hey guys we are off to see a new game today shall I bring the camera?'
'Nah, don't worry bro I have a potato'.
'Cool.'

My predictions for the day-

Stagnant with a hint of being directionless.

5:15 Guy on Right: - Man, I'd say, in graphics... it (PD) has surpassed itself.

5:19 Guy in Middle: - Graphics, graphics, I liked them. They're very fluid. Very fluid indeed.

05:20 Guy on Left: - It's what you'd expect on PS4.

05:24 Guy on Right: - In terms of sounds, it's almost the same.

Guy in Middle: - (barely audible) Sounds are almost the same.

05:27 Guy on Right: - I'd say the improvements are minimal.

05:28 Guy in Middle: - We've really liked the replays a lot. The way... (gets cut off by GoL)

05:32 Guy on Left: - Spectator mode is very well made to broadcast races, very well achieved. What happens is that the... (gets interrupted by GoR)

05:40 Guy on Right: - The physics...

05:41 Guy on Left: Shakes head in disaproval (???)

05:41 Guy on Right: Looks to Guy on Left.

05:43 All three: All laugh in unison.

Guy in Middle: - Wait until tomorrow, wait until tomorrow and we're going to ...(inaudible)... with everything we know.

Guy on Left: - I... today, if I'm honest...

Guy in Middle: - Until now it hasn't convinced us much, let's just leave it at that but we'll wait until tomorrow.

Oh dear...

We have one report of audio being the same as GT6. One anonymous source from a busy public venue, the worst place to judge audio. Let's not go crazy.

polyphony are truly something.

they've waited three years to show it off, and when they finally do, the audio is still not improved.

and these aren't placeholders either. you just know that--because they've done this to you many times before--that is exactly what the game will sound like.

still excited for the trailer, though.
