Exactly, its sad how invested people are in a digital store, in this case Steam, that they feel they have to defend it from even the smallest (or imagined) slight.
You'd think they had money invested in Valve...
They're not. Origin fudges the numbers by calculating download speed using unpacked file size rather than download size. For example, if you downloaded a 200MB chunk at 2MBps but it unpacked to twice that size, Origin would say you're downloading at 4MBps because you've downloaded 400MB worth of data in that 100 seconds.

Picked up Dragon Age II and Kingdoms of Amalur. Already have KoA on PS3 but would like to play it in a higher quality on my PC. And I need to give DA2 a shot before Inquisition comes out. I wonder if there are any mods for either of these games.

KoA's PC port is rather bare bones, but on the bright side the load times are virtually non-existent once you're in-game.

But now EA is doing the same thing as Steam. Does that make them Burger King? I doubt EA can say that are the "Nordstroms" of digital retail.
On a different note....it looks like having a different distribution service didn't really amount to competition of prices. Since EA stuff can only be bought in the EA store, they can jack up the price to whatever they want. Just waiting till Ubi does the same.
Yes, amid the cries that Origin provides "competition" to Steam is the little known fact that all they did was force a monopoly for EA games onto Origin. They aren't trying to compete on services with Steam because they likely don't care to.

Well speed issue aside, I just requested a refund for MoH Airborne. The game requires you to sign in with your EA account. I tried several times to no avail. I found a thread somewhere that said you could link your EA account to a created account at POGO.com and that would resolve it but that's bullshit. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops like that to play a game I purchased. That's some shit DRM but at least they have a good refund policy.

Dragon Age 2 is a lot of fun as long as you accept that some dungeon layouts are duplicated. It ain't DA:O but it's better than most games out there.
