How much did you pay for it? I'm currently saving up for one (Possibly saved up enough to get it next week!). Thought about getting the XTi but I have no experience with Cameras in general so I'm willing to take the middle tier Digital Rebel.

How much did you pay for it? I'm currently saving up for one. Thought about getting the XTi but I have no experience with Cameras in general so I'm willing to take the middle tier Digital Rebel.

The only difference (and please, correct me if I'm wrong) between the XT and the XTi is that the XTi is a 10 megapixel.. which is only really essential (as opposed to the 8 megapixel) if you're printing very large photographs. Otherwise, the XT is like $200 cheaper.

The XT is about 699.99 in retail stores (with a basic EF-S 18-55mm lens) but on BeachCamera.com it's only 581.89.
That same website offers package deals and for $678 I got the camera, extra battery, 1gb memory card, camera case, and lens cleaning kit. It also ships really fast (I got mine in 2 days) in the US.

This camera is also pretty good if you don't know much about cameras. I'm self-taught, and there are still some functions on this camera that I don't know 100%, but it's got all the basic features of a normal point-and-shoot camera ("portrait" settings, "landscape" settings, built in flash, etc) besides the more manual settings that let you play with the aperture, shutter speed, etc.
