Its interesting that a few facial features have guided my entire life so far; kids used to bully me so I spent all of my time in the library or watching TV and movies at home, away from everybody. I write, and that's pretty much an isolated career... I don't go out to pubs or clubs so I don't have a girlfriend (not that I ever have...). All because of something I can't change... and that's why I happened to be wearing a mask in one of the only recent pictures of myself that anyone has.

Seriously, if you put SO MUCH on the way you look, others will too. Oh and always remember to look people in the eyes when you talk to them. People insecure about their looks will almost always avoid eye contact; be confident.

Sorry if it sounded at all condescending (if it did my bad). Anyway, I actually used to be a similar way (put a lot of emphasis on how I looked) and would act similarly in terms of drifting between two moods or personalities. It all seemed to stem back to confidence or a lackthereof. I'll simply say what seemingly worked for me: I got out of my comfort zone and found success. Nothing felt more reassuring.
