I guess considering I have a myspace I may as well just post my pictures here on gaf as well. I'm still stuck in the old mindset of "what if someone i know sees me!!"

Diminishing returns on my beard.

It itched so badly, though. As you can see, I shaved the mustache pretty early in and was close to having to shave it again because I couldn't stop chewing on it.

I was growing something similar up until tonight. I shaved the jawbone/cheeks/sideburns in favor of the goatee/mustache combo. I'm a bit frustrated though, the hair beside my lips doesn't come in nearly full enough, and I've got painful inconsistency in the color of it all (some of it is damn near red/orange).

Kev don't worry about it, lots of peoples beards grow in red/orange. My cousin has jet black hair and he grows an almost completely red beard. It is hilarious. Too bad beards are itchy for they are awesome.

Factoid: red hair isn't a genetic trait of the peoples of Ireland at all, and is in fact actually an ancient Briton characteristic. Irish with red hair are in fact less Irish and more Briton than those with say, black hair, who descend from the Iberian settlers at the end of the stone age who more or less wiped out the original inhabitants (nobody knows much about them) and created the historical Irish ethnicity.

Whoa, very good info, thank you. I'm not great with that type of thing but I know I'm a cluster of Irish, French, Dutch, Cherokee, German and Italian. Who knows where it came from~

Yeah it probably came from Scandanavia, but before the "Viking" invasion. Although the native Britons probably had similar type of hair in the first place too.

It's like this yo:

The arrow leading from Ireland to Scotland should be thinner or something, because the number wasn't huge, but it's thought that's where the darker hair colours of the Scots came from.

So the Irish aren't Celts in the ethnic sense, only the cultural one. But then, Celtic was probably the most successful culture in the history of Europe until modern times, it just never had a single kingdom to call it's own - and many non-Celtic areas adopted the traditions.
