The fun thing is that the world may see this, but his supporters are eating it up as a victory, because anything that angers sane people and anything that antagonizes other countries for no reason other than to show 'american dominance' is a victory

That's assuming Trump even runs his businesses well. I have yet to see evidence of that.
All I see is a blowhard who promotes his brand effectively.

There's no assuming, he's awful at business. He tanked a fucking casino. That should be all you need to know there.

another significant export for Mexico: Concrete. Which you need for roads, buildings, and other structures. And the stupid wall.

The thought that the United States would have to buy concrete from Mexico to build the wall is goddamn hilarious. How pathetic the U.S. is right now.

Trump turning the country into a nation of losers.

I would like more journalist to use the phrase "President Trump lies/lied...".

It's always "President Trump says a lie" or "President Trump wrongly states" or something along those lies.

So, more use of the word "lie" as a verb from journalists.

And recently "falsehood," come on, just say it!

I wish he talked about how Mexico's Foreign Minister and Secretary of Economy were arriving at Washington to get together with Trump's people on the very same morning that the Orange Turd decided to tweet about cancelling the scheduled reunion with Peña Nieto.

Talk about humiliating. Top men from Mexico are arriving to discuss economy and immigration and you circumvent them? Fuck this asshole and everyone who voted for him who are still sure that they voted for the right thing!

I like this guy. Pretty much sums up my personal feelings over all this across the last few days.

The quote at 7:34 is alarming. He's basically using word salad to come up with a bullshit non-answer because he doesn't have one.

Downright brutal and right on the money. Trump is a fool and he will be shown to be a fool. Hell he already is being shown to be the fool that those who voted against him knew he was.

Did you guys see Jeffery's comment on this same topic in Anderson Cooper 360?
He spins this as a positive, keeps saying this is part of the negotiation. That was hard to watch.

Wow, that was incredible. He really tells it like it is.

"This country's original environmentalists - Native Americans. For hundreds of years our only environmentalists. The only people that thought that land and rivers should be preserved in their natural state. The only people who thought that a mountain, prairie, or river could be a sacred place...The people who have always known what is truly sacred in this world."

That was really well done. I got such a sense of dread when he transitions from talking about Mexico to talking about Russia.

Of course Comrade Cheeto is gonna go running to Papa Putin to ask him what he should do. He's probably realizing at this point that he's completely out of his element and that really no ally is gonna help him on this one. He staffed his cabinet with incompetents at best and lunatics at worst. Nobody in his administration knows what the fuck they're doing. That's why he hasn't said anything since Peña Nieto canceled their meeting, because nobody over there knows what the fuck to do. So he'll consult his bestest buddy in the whole wide world (who is clearly blackmailing him not that it matters of course) to ask him what he should do.

Not that they have ever had problems trying to spin the unspinnable and failing miserably, but in no reality is fucking up a negotiation so bad that you can't even get the other person to sit down with you "part of the negotiation".

I agree with most of what he said, except that Putin isn't smart. Putin is an extremely smart, cunning and intelligent guy. He knows exactly what he's doing.

How long until Trump / Spicer put MSNBC into the "Fake News" category now? An hour? Maybe two?
Independents/moderates already know MSNBC is "liberal-leaning". It's more important to convince them CNN--a network I believe has a good reputation among independents/moderates for being fair, centrist, and reliable--is fake and part of the conspiracy.

Wow, we need more reporters like this guy. Sometimes CNN has a few good moments, but this guy is what we need in a Trump's presidency.

Not to defend Jeffrey Lord in any capacity, he spins it that way because that is how Trump genuinely thinks he can negotiate. He's fully expecting Mexico to come grovelling to his feet like a group of contractors he's trying to stiff. He's learning the hard way his style of negotiation doesn't work on a national level. The world wide press has their eyes squarely on him and his inability to negotiate in meaningful terms. There's no other reason a report would go out that Trump wouldn't talk about the wall pubically(which frankly I don't believe he'll be able to control himself). The realities of this job sink in to him more and more every day. Given how fragile his ego is, he's going to keep shrinking into the child he is.

Oh god yes this is so true see it in Fox FB comments all the time.

Surprise surprise, the one so-called good skill he has, turns out to be bogus as well.

It's a good video, although I don't entirely agree that forcing a meeting to be cancelled can never be a valid negotiating tactic.
Well, in this case, it's a total loss on Trump's side. Essentially it went like this:

Trump: "Hey Mexico! If you don't agree to pay for our wall, then you should cancel the meeting!"
Mexico: "...K. Bye"
Trump: "...."

He played himself. Fucking hilarious, really.

It is pretty scary to think about what Putin might be able to talk him into. Donald's already come off as a Putin fanboy for awhile now.

Putin won.

He succeeded at weakening the USA in Trump blowing steam that no one takes seriously due to his lack of follow through... Internationaly

I don't get why his supporters think he is some great negotiator. He isn't even a billionaire, has filed for bankruptcy many times and even has a "good friend" who is a bankruptcy lawyer, is so desperate he had a table set up at an campaign event to pimp his products, and won't release his tax returns because they likely will show how much of a mess he is. The last tax return we have of his he took a billion dollar loss.

Because Trump supporters don't believe in facts. They only believe in him.

And that is why it is a cult.

This is the part that kills me inside. The US has worked for decades to create rather favorable agreements for itself with other countries. This is a major basis for the US's position in the world. And more importantly: our fucking allies. For fuck's sake, NATO came to the US's aid 17 years ago. And no Republicans in Congress can even care enough to think about that? The US/Europe relationship upholds Western values in the world and is one of the reasons things are so comfy for the US today.

Republicans in Congress are willing to give up the US's comfy position as a world leader for the lulz. There is no conceivable long term benefit of this to anyone. ANYONE.

The Trump administration makes me think of the abusive significant other who tries to control a person's life by making sure they can't see their friends. And only letting the person see the people that they approve of. The US is in a fucking abusive relationship that's try to turn it away from its allies for the past 50+ years.

I know that Republicans in Congress don't care. But holy shit. Mexico has its own problems and arguably has a subordinate relationship to the US already. There's no reason to go into a negotiation acting like an asshole when you've got the economic upper hand. And Congress is just going to let that be jeopardized? Okay, then.

I'm not saying I expect Trump to realize any of this. He's got mental issues. But Congress? Welp. You just keep pretending the rest of the world doesn't exist, GOP.
