Holy crap! You're right!

This needs to be added to the OP to prevent any sudden suicides.

Not saying one way or the other, but this just sounds like standard PR. Of course he's not going to confirm it.

I would be surprised if this is true because it seems like CDPR's design and business philosophies different so much from EA. Would GOG be canned? EA would end up killing CDPR just like so many other studios.

EA: "So, CD Projekt, tell us a little bit about yourself."

CDPR: "Well, we specialise in taking as much time as necessary to create complex open worlds with intricately crafted and mature narratives, a pro-consumer stance towards DLC, and we have our own content delivery platform that empowers the customer even further."

EA: "I don't understand."

There's a difference between "standard PR speak" where they neither confirm or deny anything and that tweet, in my opinion.

It would be so sad to see that all go away.

I wish the best for CDPR, for me one of the best developers currently!
Someone should help them with Cyberpunk, no matter who, except Konami.

Is this the same cdproject guy that say he had intern info about the witcher 3 being trash and that we were lied and people would be massively dissapointed when the game was released?
Because that was someone from gaf and he has still to be ban, and im not believing this "cdporject" guy either.

I don't give my money to EA, so I would simply stop buying CD Project RED games. This would suck, CDPR are creating a revolution that's pro gamer/consumer and EA stands for the complete opposite, this literally makes no sense inside my head.

The most disappointing thing about this is that I was really looking forward to Cyberpunk. Why couldn't they have made that before Witcher 3?!!

If this were to happen, I couldn't possibly care until CDPR actually releases a bad game. And even then it may not be due to the purchase.

Eh...that guy didn't say it'd be trash, but he said it was being significantly downgraded, had tons of bugs and was going to shit on community goodwill, which, let's be honest, was completely true.

That's not at all what he said. He said that CD Red isn't that awesome of a company as everyone thinks and that they have a lot of crunch time. He also said the game was nowhere near completed, and this was before the delays, so he was probably right.

Other than bugs and the downgrade, its still an amazing game.

But why? Why would you have two units that focused on developing RPG? EA portfolio's are as diverse as ever and having another RPG focused unit wouldn't make any sense.

Unless they decide to close down Bioware and refocus their RPG games in Poland, that would certainly minimise the development cost. But closing down Bioware in the near future wouldn't be beneficial since they still have some value to EA and they've invested a lot in Bioware.

Are there any other details by the way? Are they try to fully acquire CDPR or is it only the development studio?

And? They lied up until the game had already launched to come out about it. They can turn out all of the great games they want, but that doesn't make up for them lying through their teeth for months about what the end result was going to be and how it got there.

Well there really isn't any objective truth here. but I don't agree at all with that.

The games that really change the industry and go on to be copied are rarely ones driven only by finance. Games like Minecraft, Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, etc, are not made with financial decisions coming before creative ones.

Bioware's games have become homogenized and forgettable. 10 years from now no one is going to be making comparisons by saying "oh yeah it's this generations's Dragon Age Inquisition!" If you go back and play KOTOR or Baldur's Gate, Bioware's creative decline is really noticeable. Maybe they are more financially sound now, but that's not the basis of what drives change or enrichment of the industry.
The Mass Effect series isn't anything I'd ever call forgettable... it was one of the biggest and most recognized names of last gen... the outrage over the ME3 ending is proof enough how influential the series was among gamers. The whole debacle may have been very misguided and idiotic, but it also showed how much people cared about the trilogy.

While Dragon Age was never as big as ME, it also has a very strong following and was generally received warmly by both critics and gamers... so all in all, I still think Bioware is in a good place. For example, I'd never claim KoTOR is a masterpiece while Mass Effect sucks... to me, they're both very enjoyable for what they set out to accomplish, and I can't say I see this creative decline of theirs you speak of.

I actually find EA to be underrated by the gaming community and I can see this being good for CD Red in the future. I was against this decision at first, but it makes since for EA to pursue it. Better EA, then Activision and Konami.

I don't think the rumor is true but we can't take this stuff as proof, since they couldn't disclose (or even hint it happening) a buyout via forum / twitter before announcing it to investors officially.

Publicly traded companies are under heavy regulation regarding major announcements that throw stock prices around.
