Senua is not Hellblade 3

Given that Hellblade has a 90% on Steam and Hellblade 2 has an 84% on Steam, I just assume one of two options:

1.) GAF has a very vocal part of that small minority that didn't like the games

2.) the vocal negativity is overwhelmingly by people that never played the games

Option 2 is the statistically more likely option. So I just disregard the comments.
Yes you are correct they are games first and foremost.

Whilst the user score are as you stated, the peak concurrent numbers especially for the second game tell us that even those who played the first game didn't show up for the sequel which launch on Steam simultaneously to console unlike the first game.

Those that played it enjoyed it however consumers were disinterested in it considering the way sold or even engaged with in Gamepass.

Hopefully the new direction helps them find a sustainable audience.

Incredibly impressive that ~40-50 people made the uncontested and undisputed benchmark in real time visuals (Hellblade 2). Meanwhile Sony out there spending 300 million on 3 hour PS4 DLC (black Spiderman) and taking 10 years and probably half a Billion to make Trans of War.

Reviews frankly don't matter. It's all about engagement.

If you spent $100 million to make a game.. and everyone who played your game loved it. That might feel good. But if only 12 people played it, even if all 12 loved it, your project is a failure.

The problem is the second game did not motivate people to even try to play it. They could be marketing. Design. Or just general apathy to the IP and world.

Personally? I think it's the later. Senua made sense a game, not as a series.

I thought this looked great. Looking forward to seeing more. A massive jump in trailer quality and what looks to be game mechanics etc.

so, not hellblade 3, then?... fine... will keep this in mind...

imagine spending time clarifying that your third game featuring the protagonist of your previous 2 games is not a sequel to the first 2... she's all yours, guys...

Desperate rebranding is never a good look. Might as well just come up with a brand new Viking female protagonist for a new slashy 3rd person Viking game.

Like, if her character and story are so good you can't break from it, you should want players to go back and play the previous ones and keep the titling in line with each other.

I have big doubts they can build a game like that in a (relatively) short amount of time, even when reusing some assets or mechanics. That's even assuming someone told them to stop making visual benchmarks, because they take way too long.

I'll play if the final product will deliver good gameplay, but I'm definitely sceptical for now.

This series is depressing and I'm struggling to understand the target demographic. Just who exactly is excited to play this over other games???

Coining the words Senualike, Senualite, and Senuaslop right now before anyone else does. Make sure to @ me any time you use these words. Thanks.
